You need to buy an adapter. It's possible it came lose during installation. I will have to check my wiring. I don't listen to the radio much, but I went to a drive in theatre and the radio signal wasn't impressive.

Mine came with the adapter for the radio antenna and the radio works every bit at good as the stock radio did.

I didn't think of using it at a drive-in. I was just thinking that I want to go to one this summer.

Mine was with the radio as well, the adapter I bought was for the GPS function using the Onstar module rather than a separate GPS that also comes with.
As for the radio being quieter.....do you mean quieter than the storage music...or just crappy on it's own. I know in the EQ settings there is a button on the bottom right that says "Loud". It puts more ooomph into the radio sound. But the radio on mine is great, although I tend to listen to the music on the SD card more than the radio. Just FYI, the largest Mini SD card I have used so far is 16GB. Sorry about the iPhone test, brother didn't bring his USB cable so I wasnt able to test it this last weekend. I have a week off coming up, I'm sure I can do it then. Spotify....I did it briefly just to see how it worked. I never have used before. From what I remember it worked just fine, I just didnt keep it on the unit because of the data it uses. For the new units being ordered, keep this in mind. These units have ports (RCA connections) for a front camera, rear camera and auxillary camera). The DVR recording function built into the unit will only work for a USB camera, it will not record (to my knowledge and fruitless attempts) any of the RCA connected cameras. So..apparently there is a thing for torque and other apps that you can download where you should be able to pull up your camera. It will probably work, but only for the USB connected camera. The "Android" part of this does not talk to the "Radio" part of this. In any event, I installed a crappy, I mean crappy 2 channel DVR I got for cheap. Ran front and auxillary camera (back not reverse, reverse is separate and still pops up on the unit when I back up). Connected those to the 2 Ch DVR (Ch 1 in and Ch 2 in) and then video out to the Auxillary RCA connection. I can see both front and back at any given time, record and take still shots. Now when I tap on Auxillary it shows me both front and back cameras. Nothing super about it and eventually will change out the DVR to something better. |

Question, could you use a RCA to USB adapter on each camera? Also bnorman, do you have a link to the GPS adapter that you purchased?

I'm going to purchase a new radio antenna adapter. Apparently the one I have is either defective or poor quality. By the way I am using a 32gb memory card with zero issues.

Here is the post that details the adapter. Not so much of an adapter as it is a extension to reach the onstar module to plug in the GPS. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=374 Here is a link to the product on Ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/320978361964...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT The extension http://www.ebay.com/itm/161046391703...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT From back of unit, along center console to back of Armrest http://www.ebay.com/itm/251272699598...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT And the Aux Jack w/USB from gmpartsdirect Hope that helps |
