Yes, it would be a L99. The L99 is essentially a LS3 with AFM and VVT. All the other changes were made to support these technologies.

If I was an auto tranny guy, I'd rather pay the gas guzzler tax than have a slightly neutered engine. But not really my place to have an opinion I guess, I was going to buy a M6 anyway.

Which makes me wonder, is the new SS Sedan thats equipped with M6 still getting hit with the gas guzzler tax, or does the manual get them under the threshold for it? I haven't seen one in person to look at the window sticker yet.

According to Edmunds it is. $1300. The Camaro SS M6 got around that with CAGS (skipshift), which we all know is easily defeated. ZL1 w/CAGS is still $1300, but the A6 is $2600

No one has seen the window sticker on a 2015 SS as of yet. They just started taking orders on them, and won't start building until November. From what I've seen the SS Sedan with the M6 still gets hit with the GG tax. My 2014 got hit with $1300 in GG tax.

I wasn't able to find the 2015 SS on Edmunds yet.

But if $1300 is right, thats the same as the A6 SS Sedan, which doesn't make much sense. Does the M6 in the SS have CAGS?

oh I thought they were supposed to start hitting dealers this month, guess the salesman that told me that was mistaken... no surprise there.

Sorry, apparently the article about the 2015 M6 I was looking at was referring to GG in 2014.

I wonder if they'll even bother re-certifying the M6 SS since it will likely be low production, but if they do surely it'll at least qualify for a lower bracket GG tax, if not beat it completely.
