Good luck on the GT-R! They are nice cars - great performance for the price! I do love the drive of the BMW...seems so nimble for such a big car! Thank you all for the well wishes, this is why I love the Chevrolet community, and why it was so hard for me to sell my Corvette!

I was going to trade my 2004 Corvette in on an SS coupe, but I ran into a guy with an SS with 300 miles on it and found out he had an electrical issue that made me balk. Yes, it was fixed quickly, but after reading all of the horror stories as well as hints of more to come, I decided to wait.

Back in 1988 BMW introduced the M5 on the market and I knew I would NEVER have one - I have lusted after every M5 introduced to the U.S.A. for 21 years, knowing I would NEVER have one.

Never came Monday night. Found a certified 2006 in Silverstone II metalic and I was in lust. Dealer offered me a drive and - well, WOW. It was all I thought it would be and more. It helped that he wanted my Corvette really badly and the numbers came into line with where I wanted them to be, so I brought home my dream car Monday night (dream car as far as exotics go...I still Lust after my Camaro someday!)

So, if you are in Cedar Rapids, and you see a guy in a silver-blue M5 waving at you and giving you the thumbs up in your Camaro - he means it. I will be back in a Bowtie in a few years when I can order my convertible...but until then I have 500 reasons to be happy!
Enjoy your BMW like the 254342352242342367 people already drive. HAHAHAHA!!!

WOW! The BMW M series is another level altogether....whether it be an M5, M3 or even a 335i those are some of the best the automotive world has to offer.

Congrats!!

Congrats!!
Newer BMW's are crap. My wife's uncle purchased one for his wife and the doors would stop working after she would turn the car off. She called BMW and said she was trapped in the car. BMW said, can you roll down the driver side window and climb out! HAHAHAHA!!! She climbed out of the car, told BMW to f**k off, took a baseball bat, shattered all four windows, returned the car (it was on lease) and said, "Never again!" Rather drive a Camaro with On-Star than those POS cars. Paying tens of thousands more for what? To look like every other CEO's car? Puhlease.

Get one and get them modded. People get BMW's for the prestige and rarely alter their appearance because they lose a crapload of value.

60-70% of BMW's are leased is most of the reason they remain bone stock. My wife loves hers. My Camaro will be modded to suit me, and the pleasure I will derive from it will far outweigh any depreciation from doing so

I love how people use money to justify excuses. Glad you have plenty of both.

Congrats I allways wanted a Bimer but the wife didn't like them had to get the plush Lexus. The M3 or M6 coupe would be my choice.
