Salute goes to GM! They brought the 5th Gen Camaro a long way in stock form since 2010! Even the 2010 SS can be made a great handling and performance car with aftermarket parts. So for them to get the 2014 Best Drivers Award for just stock parts is awesome! Now imagine the Z/28 with aftermarket parts upgrades!

He's too busy arguing over racing rules and classifications that no one cares about to notice this.

The fact that the Z/28 is restricted by the basic Gen5 Camaro platform -- which retails for $24K in V6 form -- speaks very highly of the Z/28 design team. The final performance level of the Z/28, given those restrictions, speaks highly for the basic platform. More importantly, it also tells you just how skilled (and devoted) the Z/28 design team really is.

KUDOS to all the people who made this happen! You've also set the bar incredibly high for the next-gen Camaro and Z/28 -- enjoy the champagne, then back to work for you...

It's nice to see what we believed in get its due. Great job Chevy!

Begs the question, what will the 6Gen be like? The bar is raised. Looking forward.

Ok, here is my fear. I pray that GM does not use this as marketing for the GEN6 and do what they did with the GEN2 and take the "/" out of it. The Z/28 needs to remain a high dollar (relative to the other Camaro models) "halo" car for the tracked focused buyer. It does not need to be relegated once again to a "special package" on the base model car like it has been for years. IF GM stays true to this renewed focus on the track car variant of the Camaro, we are all in for a good time with the GEN6. Long Live the King!!

IMHO the Z/28 is one of the biggest halo car success stories in GM history. The positive press it has garnered for the brand is amazing, and it came at the exact moment in history (during the recall fiasco) when GM desperately needed some good news.

Given that, I can't believe that GM wouldn't try to keep the team together to duplicate the magic on the Gen6. Which means Zed-SLASH-TwentyEight dot TWO...

Congrats Team Camaro on a well deserved win.

The funny part is everyone, OK most everyone, on this website fully knows and understands just how Great these cars truly are. And now, we can just post this link when the keyboard warriors start crying how the Camaro is to much of this or that.

We Win! We Win! We Win!
