Should I do this trade? Vette for Camaro...
I have a 1ss yellow 6 speed. I bought it for $31,500. It has 4k miles.
A guy has offered me his 2005 yellow corvette with 19k miles and $5000 for my car. I can't decide.. I have always wanted a yellow vette, but I think the camaro gets alot more attention, plus you see vettes everywhere... Your thoughts? |

I had a yellow C5 and I just sold my black C6 (2007) for my 2SS. I have had the 2SS for a few days now. EVERYONE has told me they like it better than the Corvette. It rides better, is better QC, feels better. All around the Camaro is a nicer car. Now if you want all out performance, sure the Vette is king. The SS is no slouch either. I have yet to let it rip but I can feel the power is for sure there. Plus, there were a lot of problems with the 2005 C6. First year bugs but the Camaro may have some bugs too so thats kind of a null point. |

well, You didn't say what model line the vette is. ..
I would say no... why... well 2010 Car with 4k -> 2005 (4yrs old) with 19k + $5000! Seems like a dumb move on my end.

What do you mean what model? Its likely just a LS2. A C6Z would be much more valuable. I guess there are options. Most of which are usless and drive the price of a Corvette up for no reason. I had a 2007 1LT, bone stock. GMS I paid a hair over $35,000 for it brand new. Hell of a car for that but to add the other pkgs... ehh. Now I got the top o` the line Camaro 2SS/RS LS3 and at GMS paid a hair over $33,000. Also a hell of a car. As I stated, I would not give the Camaro for a Vette any day. Seems I have chosen... wisely!

Keep the Camaro. Unless he goes to 10,000. Then s/c the vette!

Now if he was offering a '08 Vette or willing to increase the cash to $10,000, then I would think about just because then you could make a couple thousand on the deal. |

In the end... I love my Camaro and to the OP, Vettes are nice but really they aren't all that. I personally had a 2000 Mil. Yellow and a 2007 black. Parents had a 92 and 95 growing up... |

2005's did have several issues, so I would stay clear of them.
I can say however owning a 2004 Vette coupe and now a 2008 Vette Vert., the 2008 hands down beats the 2004 and my 2010 Camaro. As others have said, you cant compare a Vette to a Camaro. I know you guys dont want to hear this, but after three months in the Camaro, it has become just another car to me. Don't get me wrong, I think its great, but if I had to sell it tomorrow, I wouldn't shed a tear.
