Sounds like a bigger issue:
1. The upgrade you mentioned previously, for which market was it for? America, Asia, Middle East or Russia, all the new ones are ver 20141015?

2. I have Torque running. Each of the Bluetooth devices in the HICES bluetooth settings, have different addresses. Figure out which one is for the dongle and then make sure that in the Torque settings it is set for the same one. (I did this the first time installing Torque until I figured out torque was looking for one address and it was not the dongle).

3. Is it a dongle from Lim or from Ebay/Amazon. I read in one of the .lib files that this unit blocks common bluetooth dongles (I always thought they were doing this to force us to buy from them. They block them by setting blocks on certain ranges of addresses)

4. Are you able to load a video here or Youtube? When you say the unit resets, do you mean it completely shuts down and restarts?

5. I have not seen the CANBUS affect the lighting, only heating and A/C controls, but is the CANBUS set to HICES?

6. Without messing with files, I will get you more specifics about the bluetooth/torque app with screen shots. The lighting thing I have never seen and you are the first I heard of with it, but I am nearly positive it has something to do with the upgrade.

2. the issue is there are no devices listed under bluetooth on the radio, even when i get my phone to connect, it is not listed as a device on the radio. also, i watch lims video on torque, and how to connect the obd2. i dont have menu (wireless & network) as show in his video. when I goto the bluetooth menu and turn it on, it just searches and never finds anything.
3. No its not from lim. its a ASUS BT400.
4. I have not caught this on video, it happens about 30min after the rdio is on. Its happened 3 times to me. Maybe i'll set my gopro up on my way to work and see if i can catch it. yes when it resets its just like pushing the reset button, this started only after the upgrade was made. i never had this issue prior to the upgrade.
5. yes canbus is set to HICES. Lighting issue is fixed. it was a setting after the update the led lighting setting was turned to zero.
6. I can get torque to run and connect on my phone, so 'm starting to think you may be right about blocking certain address, and maybe this is why I dont connect?? i guess i could just break down and buy one from them, but I've had this one and wasn't using it so i thought it would work.

With you saying bluetooth is working for your phone are you able to stream music and make calls through the car?

I'm having a hard time can't get it to work any longer and everything Lim tells me to do isn't working. I get and can pair my phone but that doesn't stream or make calls thru the unit and when I try to connect to the CARDVD it says . Lim said that it would say BTARM and connect to that. Can you confirm?

1st switch to Russia version. I haven't had any problems


2nd here are my BT devices. I renamed my dongle to OBDII. Make sure that device, whatever u name it is the one Torque is reading from. But yeah, could be blocked




For streaming music, etc make sure ur settings are correct for BTArm. If you don't have it visible make the device visible and then search for devices. The XT device is my phone.

In the first pic you can see the radio is searching but it will never sYstem it finds it. You can see the bluetooth icon at the top of the screen. I can stream music at this point even tho it never connects.

The second pic is my phone connected. Nothing changes when I make the phone visible. It timed out in the pic.

I think ill try thr russian version tomorrow.

I bought this unit in February, but my car was in the shop for awhile, so I decided to sell it. Good thing I did because seems like everyone is having issues with it. I wish Lim would get most of the bugs fixed. This is one of the nicest ones out there.

Curious does everyone's unit take a few minutes to load everything up from the sd card when staring up the unit? Mine seems to take a good 4-5 minutes

Another question: I don't seem to be able to find any link ON the HiCESAN web site to actually purchase the dang thing...do you have to email the guy or something? How much does it cost? I noticed there are options for resistive vs. capacitive display (capacitive being better)...anyone know how to purchase these options?

He told me it was impossible that the BTARM could go bad lol now he's sending me another one. Had to reupgraded to the Russian version it's way better than the 4.0 that it came with

What is better about the Russian version? I am still running the version that came on the system. Is it worth upgrading?
