subscribed, I may have missed the post, how bad was the original engine when you tore it down?

I'll leave that question for JusticePete to answer. I don't think they have torn it down yet.

In the mean time... Pistons!

These are boxed pistons. They are much stronger than a standard piston and well suited to road course abuse. Material is 2618. I'll get Peter some more detailed pictures to post if he chooses.

All we need are a set of Forgeline 19x11 wheels with titanium hardware and lightening pockets to go with the 305/30/19 Trofeos.

Cage going in!

Still a few more horizontal bars to be added that the seats will bolt directly to. But the final install is happening now and it looks great.

Swing-out door bars also to be added, will be used for anchoring nets.

The one pic of some yellow metal snips are door pieces that are no longer needed removed to decrease weight.

JusticePete is awesome to work with and you are right - the quality is top notch.

It's probably a good thing that I live 3 hours away from where the work is being done, or else I would just spend all my spare time hanging around there watching the build and driving Pete even more nuts than I already do.

More progress on swing-out door bars and safety nets today. Nets release from the top with a single push of a release clip. Door bars have quick release pins.

Also had to relocate the fire bottle in the trunk as it was in the way of the cage.

And, one shot of the engine as of the weekend - starting to come together.

Pete
