Consistently? Absolutely no chance. But a hero run in perfect conditions? Its possible enough that I wouldn't just dismiss the idea outright.

Did you even look at the list? 7 of the top 10 are in the 11s. With time there will be more.

I am not talking magazine times. I am talking about owners that have real seat time and get good DA. Just like the SSs run mid 12s in our fast list. Are those guys fibbing?

If this DOES end up with some new LF4 engine (with better parts), I'm gonna be pissed because I've got a couple grand worth of LF3 parts in my spare room... Should have waited, could have had better stuff...

I'm excited for this to come out though.

GM is making so much good stuff that I want, it makes me sad that I can't have all of them... Need to win the lottery...

I would bet all the parts would fit on the LF3
  • Titanium Rods
  • Oil pan
  • Different Turbos
  • Different cooling bricks

Although the new rods are lighter than the ones you just had made, who knows if they are stronger? The oil pan would be nice if you are on the road course, but not much help at the strip. And turbos...well you will want to upgrade those at some point. Mo' Powa!!!

Doesn't shock me that this engine may be the LF4 instead of the LF3 due to the race version being called "LF4.R" . But that said, I would have no concerns whatsoever in bumping the LF3 to 450+HP and TQ...heck its not far from that anyways, and after market tunes are getting a lot more than that. I just figured they'd tweak the LF3 a bit and move on. The LF3 is a tough engine. This LF4 must be unbreakable then.
Well, for what it is worth, they list the M6 and the A8 together and show that both hit 60 in under 4 seconds. So if accurate it means M6 0-60 is 3.9 seconds and A8 0-60 is probably going to be .2 faster or so.

The more I study this car, the more I like it. Assuming GM has taken lessons learned in developing the C7, Z28 et al, I would expect this to be a great track car when loaded with all the track options. I had decided to try to get a GT350 a while back, but this car has my attention (and the 4 doors will help sell the wife on it too).

I think it would have been better for GM and buyers if they used a LT1 instead of developing a new LF4. I think it would have been cheaper for everyone. Weight would have been a little less as well not to mention power would have been the same.

Totally different class of cars for a totally different purpose.

The CTS-V with the LT4...that's the Hellcat fighter.

The CTS-V will be more similar in terms of size & performance, but it still isn't really a competitor in any way, shape, or form. One is a mass market sedan, the other is a luxury car. Only a handful of people would ever cross-shop the two.

Then who will the LT4-engined Gen-6 Camaro compete with, when it dawns?
