V1 for starters.

My favorite Camaro mod is the used Tahoe I bought for winter. I mentally downshift in that truck and find driving within 5 of the speed limit somewhat more natural.

Lets be honest here for a second everyone. We didnt buy these cars to drive at the speed limit or slower so lets just lay that one to rest right away. So, it comes down to how, when and where we are goingmtomdrive fast.mindrive my ZL everyday as it is my DD so first thing was a Valentine V1, they are legal where i live. But honestly i stick pretty damn close ro the speed limits and as stated already cruise control is your friend in these cars.

Next is the Need for Speed, so lets discuss. Between AutoX and track days i tried to get two weekend a month at the track to get the spoed juice out of my system and that for me has been the key. I got this car to go fast its the where and when that will keep you sane or in jail. The how has been to arrange my schedule for the year and during the off season, like now, im looking at how im going to plan holidays next year for racing, doing mods, reading about how to do's, where are cool tracks etc.

This will get you through and with age come patience and im in my mid 40's and a little better now at waiting. There is also bench racing at the coffee shop with you pals, laying down some smack talk and making wagers on who will beat whom in thenew year at racing. My latest idea was ro reach out to the local Mustang club and see if we could set up some racing od Camaro vs Mustang at different venues for fun and create some outings. Just my .02.

HUD (i keep it kinda bright so its hard to ignore). Cruise control, when I can depending on traffic conditions. I set the speed alert in the car to 75 MPH in the computer so car reminds me to slow down on the highway. I daily drive a pickup truck and when I get in the Camaro sometimes if I just drive and don't keep track can get away from me. What I have learned to feel like 5 MPH over in my pick up ends up being 20 MPH over in the Camaro to get that same feeling. 90% of the time I am vigilant and aware of my speed and I keep it in check, but if I have been driving for a while and just get relaxed and cruising enjoying the ride it can get away from me a bit. Also I use the WAZE app on my iphone its a traffic/road hazard/police activity alert app (https://www.waze.com/).

Well, I'm off of work for the next week so I don't have to drive very much. I'm hoping that helps me some. Snow would also help!

They have similar advertised HP. That is where the similarity ends though.

1999 Pontiac SLP Trans Am Firehawk 0-60 mph 5.2 Quarter mile 13.4
2001 Pontiac SLP Firehawk Anniversary 0-60 mph 4.8 Quarter mile 13.1

GM's media on their site shows the 2015 V6 Camaro 0-60 @ 5.9 seconds.

Not arguing or anything at all. But there are more differences with most vehicles than just advertised hp.

I used to be a big fan of a radar detector, I live in the wide open spaces, but heres the deal, if the detector goes off, they got you..unless you run with a rabbit, a car in front of you thats also wanting to run fast..also the hiway patrol hide, and use the detector.

And don't fall for the "jammers", hahahahaha.

This thread is not about acceleration it's about speed. The RS V6 Camaro's top out at around 155mph, I think that is pretty fast, don't you?

I set the speed alarm at 80. It is very easy to find yourself going fast in these cars. They're just so dang stable and easy to drive fast, I don't even realize how quick I'm going. Cruise control helps.
