P0606 code issue

Wanted to see if anybody else has had a problem with the P0606 code like this.I know it's an ecm code but here's my issue. Under full throttle with the traction control on it won't come on, but when I turn the tc off and give it full throttle it comes on. Reduced engine power and service stability warning. Any suggestions? My car has a cam, Lts, cai, and a PTB. Thanks in advance!

Has your car been tuned for the mods?

Have you checked all the grounds of the wire harness on the engine?

Ted.

Did you get it figured out?

If you're up in our neck of the woods, swing it by and I can check it out for you.

Probably a simple fix or bad ground wire that didn't get reconnected like Ted mentioned.

I recently had a customer with a NF cam package that kept getting a cam pos sensor DTC. Looked up and down the tune.

Ended up being a bad/scuffed up camshaft position sensor harness that was shorting out.

Let us know if we can help.

Thank you sir, I've been working the last few days but I plan on looking at it today. Hopefully I can find it. It seems strange that it only does it with the Traction control off. When I searched on here another member mentioned it being a tune issue, would the traction control being off effect the tune any way? I also have an sct tuner that I reset the code with would that cause any more issues?

Very possible. The DTCs almost act like a butterfly effect in the E38. Many thngs are affected and impacted if initiated. Strange but I've seen some instances like that where perameters in the tune are conflicting....causing issues like that.

You don't have a copy of your .drf (tune) file do you by chance?

No sir I don't. I looked for loose wires and didn't seem to find any, also checked all the fuses just in case, but can't seem to find anything.

Hi,

I got the same issue... I was wondering if this got solved??

My 2014 1LE has, headers, CAI, night fury camshaft, 3 way exhaust controller and a tune+dyno. My 1LE drives and runs like a dream, everything is awesome about it.. until i press the traction control button...

When i do, i get the "reduced engine power", "Service stabilitrak" and "check engine light"

I read the code and its P0606.. Faulty PCM! But with traction control on, everything works so i don't know whats going on.. I was hoping someone on here could tell me?

I recently discovered what causes this, it is in the tune, it doesn't like certain routine changes.

^^^ what he said, I have had tunes get corrupted and cause this, I have also seen where the ECM doesn't like to see calibration changes to the ECT (electronic throttle control peremeters) I had the issue myself on and off. Put my ETC setting back to factory and no more p0606.
