Widest wheel for front of ZL1?
Any idea how wide the front wheel can be on the ZL1? Is the OEM 10" as wide as we can go? Reason I ask is I now have an extra set of rears and if I could run 11" on all four corners that would be fantastic, especially for one of the tracks I go to. I realize there would be some tire sticking out.
Looks to me like the offset would be the biggest problem, OEM 10" has a +23 mm offset while the OEM 11" has a +43 mm offset. I suppose I should of posted this in the wheel & tire section.. Just realized that.

I've seen people squeezing a 10.5" tire in front with the correct offset. If you don't care about poke, the Z28 wheels "fit" but extend past the fender. I think this could be an issue if driven aggressively.
I've also seen people running 295/ tires up front that have tire damage due to contact with the car. Some get away with it, though. So I guess I don't know, but others may.

Well I do run on the track rather aggressive. I'm currently running a 295x35x20 tire on the OEM front rim (20x10).

I think you would have an easier time running a 19" wheel for an 11 up front, think it might be tough with a 20" wheel. I run a 20 x 10.5 up front with no issues.

I have a brand new set of Forgestar CF5V wheels 19x11 square, on sale right now. You need to go down to 19" to fit 11" wheels with no rubbing issues.

Stock strut or coilover, desired camber, and willingness to go outside the fender will make a big difference. Forgeline has done up to 11.5" per a post from Justice Pete but I think that will destroy your paint pretty fast and was with coilovers and camber plates. Wouldn't go past 11" personally and you still need to consider rock protection.

I run a 305/30/19x10.5 in both Front and Back with a square set-up. I drive this configuration on the track consistently and am not running any coilovers or camber plates currently, but instead the OEM stock suspension components. I've been able to dial-in approximately -1.9 degrees of negative camber simply using the OEM suspension set-up which clear all the essentials and with no rubbing. Have included a pic below to give you an idea of how it looks.

Got a head-on picture and a rough measurement of wheel and tire to strut clearance?

You can call Forgeline and ask for Mark regarding offsets. This is kind of their secret sauce and I have not seen it posted any where. They also provided a 5mm aluminum wheel spacer, which they machined themselves, to ensure clearance. I bought some new wheel studs that were approximately 7mm longer than the stock OEM wheel studs that come with the ZL1 to ensure I had enough threads to work with to tighten down the lugs. Everything worked out great with this setup. I highly recommend Forgeline and Mark was excellent to work with. |

If it was me, especially considering I'd have control over the offsets, I'd just choose the best fitment offsets separately for front and rear.

For me, this Square Setup ends up being easier and I get the added benefit of extending my tire life through actively rotating my tires, which is what I was shooting for. |

I'll need some time to go grab those measurements. In the meantime, I've included below a few photos that give a head-on angle as well as a closer view. |

Thanks for the pics. There is no urgency on the clearance measurements.
I hope that anybody who finds out what the offsets of these wheels are respects the confidential nature of that information and doesn't let it slip out for some offshore knockoff company to run with for free, aka steal. Norm |
