This could be the Z/28 and Grand Sport engine.

LT1 and LT4 only just don't seem sufficient now.
I agree.

No disrespect to our 1LE owners, but I see that as the Z/28.

I think it should have been all along.

Now would the 1LE with an LS7 be also great? Yep, but that jacked the price a huge amount because of the hand built engine cost. And if you take the current Z/28 and remove the CC brakes you still have a $70,000 car mostly because of that wonderful sweet sounding, high revving 7.0L wonder of all things propelling cars.

My hope is that for every entry GM has for the Gen 6, Ford has to add some special track pack or "R" content and designation to compete on equal footing.

But alas I have not found the time machine and hence cannot foretell the actual facts of the matter at hand.

So what should the Z/28 have been named?

Z/28 should be just that. I just think that a pure race car with tires that are barely passable as street tires is a bit over the top. But as soon as they went for the LS7 and its giant cost premium we got a Z car not for the masses but for the few.

I just don't want a Z/28R to differentiate a track oriented car from a track specific car.

Z/28 GC........Gods Choice

That's what I'm hoping for.

I've been looking at some 1LE badges online. I might have to order some after the holidays.

After all it is raced in the Tudor series. I'm not sure what else would fit??? The unfortunate thing is others use the "R" when it's not warranted. In this case it is.

I think not taking advantage of the 1LE badge would be a mistake. The value and performance offered by the 1LE option is pretty impressive. They should build on that for the next generation car.

It seems most likely it will be built in and not built on.

from a marketing perspective it's a must do! It has a strong following now.

Are you saying the base SS performance will negate the need for a 1LE?

Is that based on Mr. Reuss' comments?
