MGW shifter opinions

I've read many things on here about the MGW short throw shifter kits. I myself have been looking at the flat stick short throw shifter on their website. Just wondering from those that have or have had it what was your opinion of it and would you recommend it? How good does it improve the throw? Does it have any clanking sound associated with it like some?

Thanks in advance,

Cody

Absolutely no issues, including noise. Smooth, crisp, precise, quiet. Their cue ball knob is perfect also, not too big, not too small.
ps. I have the stick shown above, not the flat one. Don't know if there is a difference in length or not which could change the throw.

It's the best one out there, IMHO. Very precise and extremely short throws. I ordered mine with a ZL1 shaft and then I ordered a 2013 SS boot and knob. It all fit like a glove and looks factory. If you're interested going that route and want to see what it looks like, I can get you some pictures.

Got one in the zl1 & 2010 ss. Just installed the mgw into the zl1 last night. The mgw 2014 revision is definately not as tight as the 2010 mgw shifter. But still a huge improvement of the factory shifter in the zl1. Still One of the best on the market.

Can you elaborate on what you mean about it not being as "tight?"

I would have thought the MGW improvement over the ZL1/1LE shifter would be slight anyway, and you description of the 2014 version of the MGW definitely makes me wonder.

The centering springs are not as tight as previous model. Does not take as much effort to move over to 1st&2nd and 5th,6th and reverse

I just installed the MGW flat stick on my SS last week and I love it. Definitely the best mod I have done so far.

But definitely an improvement of the stock ZL1 shifter? How about noise difference?

I had started a thread sometime back asking if an MGW upgrade was worth it for those of us with 1LEs or ZL1s. Seemed like few people had direct experience with both, so that's why I'm hitting you up so hard for info
