Just curious, did the pan come off just by cutting the crossmember or did you have to loosen the steering rack or motor mounts?

Bo ,you are a brave man ,I don't think I could bring myself to cut out the cross member and weld tabs on and bolt it back in . I guess you loose your nerve when you get to be an old man like me .

I cut the crossmember and unboosted the rack and slid if forward. Had to take the oil cooler off too to clear the little bit of crossmember that was left on the left side and she came right out. I may or may not put the oil cooler back on.

I forgot about the cooler, pretty much the same as all that have done it. It is so close to coming out I wasn't sure if anyone would get lucky. All in all it's much easier than the alternatives.

Yeah I think so. Just sawsall the thing and order your flanges and weld it back in. If ya got to go back in the pan in the future it's just a simple unbolt and remove.

Getting back at it today and was looking for all the pieces that went into the pan and only found one. Starting looking further and found the rest....in the oil pickup screen....

Oil cooler.....err....heater delete! Block off plate installed and freeze plug screwed in and torqued. My coolant nipple that was there wasn't even torqued lol. Glad it wasn't leaking.

Interesting choice for a smaller cam if that's the one, your setup will be very interesting.

I went with sliiightly less duration, sliiiiightly less split, sliightly more lift, and 116+3.

Doing mine soon as the -20's kick in here. I'm hoping to send my TB out to you as well later or mid-way install.
