Slotted Vs. Drilled Rotors

So I'm looking at new rotors soon, and was wondering which is better, drilled or slotted. What are the differences and are there any pro's and con's between the two?

General consensus is that slotted are better. The slots are more efficient at removing gas buildup and are less prone to cracking.

I have slotted/dimpled rotors on Bee. Same effect as both, but doesn't have the cracking issues of drilled.

Drilled are very prone to cracking, even when cryogenically treated. I would suggest Slotted!

You need new rotors on a 2013? How many miles have you put on that thing?

Unless of course you just are looking for something different looking.

Like said, drilled are prone to cracking, but I will say I think most of the cracking is when used very heavily like on the track. Slotted is better though, just make sure they aren't the kind that are slotted all the way through.

I was looking for some newer ones for when tax refund comes in, and was just curious the difference

Drilled rotors come in a big range of quality.
Poor quality drilled rotors can be down right dangerous,
High Quality drilled rotors are much more reliable, but are not as durable as slotted.

If you are looking for looks over performance, with no track time then drilled rotors might be ok providing they are high quality.
If you are looking for performance, and/or have track time in the future, then you will want slotted.

We offer a number of Quality Packages that not only save you money, but will allow you to choose what the best options are as well as any other related items that you might like. If you would like me to provide you with a link to our brake packages for your car let me know.

Beside the "cool" factory these slotted or drilled rotors provide is there any proof of increased performance on the 5th Gen Camaro?
