Is it seriously this hard to park a Camaro?
I just bought a 2013 Camaro 1LE last week and I'm still having so much trouble parking this thing lol. I mean, I went from a little 2G Eclipse to a Camaro, so I'm not really used to driving bigger cars, but I also drove a 1990 Grand Marquis for a while and occasionally my parent's minivan, and I park those just fine.
My girlfriend won't stop making fun of my parking jobs with the Camaro lol. I'm either on the line or crooked and almost on the line. It really caught me by surprise how hard it is for me to properly park one of these. It's just so wide and has such a big front end, that once you start pulling into a spot, it's a complete guessing game where the lines are. Anyone share similar thoughts, funny parking stories, or maybe even pictures of your own bad parking jobs? Last edited by rc330; 03-18-2015 at 10:36 AM. |

It's a pretty common problem. I'm a year and a half into ownership and I still have trouble getting it straight into parking spots. I'm not sure you ever get used to it.

I try to take a mental picture of the lines as I'm approaching the spot then just shoot for where I remember them being. lol

I really don't have that problem because I park at the back of the lot angled to cover a couple of spots so no one can park next to me...yep i'm an ass, but I don't have any scratches dents or dings on my car.... My wife just rolls her eyes every time I do it.

Mine still makes things challenging, but I think it is just because I suck at backing up, I have the same issue with my CTS Wagon.

I still have problems backing into the parking spot between the lines. That is another reason why I park far away in the lot.

My wife and I always back into a spot, and we always angle the driver side mirror down to look at the parking line in relation with the car body. Straight every time.

I can get in straight, the problem for me is distance between cars, I am too far apart always, but I guess it is better than the alternative.

I either back in if its a corner space, or I will make sure to park a ways from other cars to where Its ok to spend about 3 min getting it straight.
I usually have to stick my head out the window and line it up that way. It's much easier now however.

I'm horrible at backing into spots but mine comes with the backup camera. So I might give it a shot one day that there's not too many people around having to wait on me lol

Surprisingly, I'm actually doing well with distance. First 2 days I was so scared that my butt would stick out. But then again, I might be getting a little to brave now because yesterday I was no more than 2 inches away from the curb. That scared me a bit lol

Backup camera is a Godsend... My problem is pulling into a spot frontwards. I'm always closer to the curb than I think and rashed it a little once because of that.
