[QUOTE=newmoon;8304854]Well if 10:40s are the goal you could always buy a ZL1 and only have to add: cam, remove your supercharger and ship it for porting and to machine on a smaller diameter pulley, LT headers, CAI, Hi-Flo Cats, heat exchanger, injectors, boost-a-pump, aftermarket rims/tires, tuner and finally a dyno tune.
I think I'd rather change out a drive-shaft I believe you are basing this on every hellcat running 10's with just dr's if that's the case than you should also start with a ZL1's best potential also. You are talking about taking a almost 70k car and having to do something to it I thought it's supposed to run 11.2 all day on ( street tires) according to the builder's of the car.

Never let facts get in the way of a good story right?

If we're talking cheap, I wouldn't even start with a ZL1. Take a 1LE, Scatpack, Mustang GT and make a 10s car for cheap. I'm less concerned about voiding a warranty on a Chevrolet given the best in class reliability (see post #51). Besides this thread is about a tuned Hellcat. You think FCA is going to honor that? |

So a buyer shouldn't do any kind of research when spending tens of thousands of hard earned dollar's?

Dodge guy I met the last time I went was shocked that my car is covered for that type of abuse. Said his dealer checks the wheel wells for rubber so they can void the warranty. http://www.dodge.com/en/warranty/download.html

Go to any forum and there will be people that will have complaints, others that will say they have had no issues, or any issues they have had were taken care of by GM, Ford and Dodge. Guy on this site had his clutch go with 10k on the car GM dropped his warranty (abuse) looked at his tires and said he was racing |

Like you said. Pick the car you like and believe will give the best ownership experience. I knowingly bought the slowest of the group that comes with the best reliability and warranty protection. My driveline won't break after hundreds of launches but if it did, I could tow it to the dealer with white letters on the windows and rubber in the wells and they'd fix it. Once the warranty is up, she will hold up to 700 whp without issues. Plus, I bought it a year ago for $51k and 0% financing!

I haven't owned a modern Dodge so I can't speak to what dealers will or won't cover from tracking, drag strip, general abuse. I've never had pushback from Porsche, Chevrolet or Cadillac when I've put cars on the track. Heck, Cadillac dealer even flushed, bled and refilled the brake lines with Motul 600 before taking it to VIR (I provided the Motul), all free of charge alongside my regular free maintenance. |

First off, I just want to state for the record that I absolutely love the Challenger....especially the Hellcat.
That being said, I'm gonna just leave this here...... Five worst auto brands for service under one roof

Maybe the dealers in Canada have a better grasp of keeping the customer happy, I have not had any issues with customer service and Dodge. As far as FCA goes it is the number 2 seller in Canada and last month Just topped Ford in sales, GM was a distant 3rd.

Dodge was outsold by Ford, Chevrolet, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, Jeep, GMC, Subaru and Ram in the U.S. last year. Yes, Dodge outsold by Subaru on its own turf. |

You have no clue, Sorry we just live in igloos here I have to put studded tires on the Challenger to get around.
So far this year Charger, 300 sales have outsold Impala (4-3 to 1) and Lacrosse (10-1 ) Canadian Challenger over Camaro 2-1 for 2015 FCA has a 18% market Ford 15% GM 12% Fiat 500 outsold Mustang, Camaro and Challenger Last edited by rocket403; 03-22-2015 at 09:35 PM. |
