Pink Sheriff's Camaro
Our Sheriff;
  National Cancer Control Month April is National Cancer Control Month. The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce Thurston Chevrolet’s generous donation of a Chevrolet Camaro to bring attention to cancer awareness and the resources available within Mendocino County. This generous donation has also allowed the Sheriff’s Office to add the Camaro to the patrol fleet and will serve the entire County. Santa Rosa business Pro-Imaging transformed the Camaro into a vibrant pink vehicle using 3M film wrap. Pink represents the color of cancer awareness. Over the past recent years, several fine law enforcement officers in Mendocino County have lost their lives to cancer. Willits Police Department Officer and former Mendocino County Sheriff’s Deputy Sheriff Dave Tiller and District Attorney’s Office Investigator, former Mendocino County Deputy Sheriff Ken Hilliard, both lost their battle from cancer. More recently, the life of CalFIRE Chief and Peace Officer Larry Grafft was cut short from cancer. Sheriff Tom Allman and the men and women of the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office are proud to be part of a national campaign to increase the public’s awareness of cancer and the many support systems in place, not only for those that suffer from this disease, but their caretakers and loved ones as well. The Law Enforcement Cancer Support Foundation (http://www.lecsf.net) provides a free emotional support system, guidance and resource to all members of the law enforcement community during a cancer experience. This looks like its for breast cancer awareness & that's a great sign of support, but if you're claiming to support ALL forms of cancer awareness the car needs to be lavender not pink.
