Squeaking L99
Have a 2010 Camaro 2SS. I have identified squeaking sound in my engine when i turn on my engine that eventually goes away after it is warmed up. My car is not a daily driver. It goes out maybe once or twice a month in the weekend. I have attached a picture of where the squeak is coming from. Need help from my camaro brothers.
1. What is the part called? 2. Should i be worried? 3. Anything i can do myself to solve the noise issue myself? (not mechanical person at all but have basic tools and im guessing i could fix lower level issues since im not that dumb lol )

It's more than likely not the ac compressor (circled in red) but your power steering pump. There's a lot of problems with those and if you're still under warranty get it fixed if not change out to the turn one steering ball bearing model. It will be worth it if you do.

So im no longer in warranty. Im at 46 k miles and have 5 years with the car. The reason I circled that particular spot was because I sprayed wd40 on it and the squeak went away. Is the power steering pump near or attached to it.

No it's on the upper drivers side. I've never heard of an ac compressor going bad with that few miles since it's not a regular use thing however with only 13,000 miles my power steering pump gets squeaky (especially in the summer) but goes away after it warms up.

OK guys so here is the problem. The Small AC belt is off one or two notches from the pulley. Can anyone tell me how it can be moved back into place?

I don't have a picture with me..
But there should be the base near the pivit point then the area it would slide to increase or decrease the belt tension.. Make sure you loosen the all Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

This is just happened to me recently. All you need is a 24mm socket with wrench and manually turn the crank pulley. While you're doing that just push the belt back on with your other hand. Its a very easy fix. If it jumps back off Ill replace it then. But mine has been fine for over a month.
