2014 rs mods question
Just bought a 2014 rs lt1 camaro. I was thinking of adding the Pypes catback exhaust and a volant cold air intake. Does anyone have either of these and have any comments on them.

Can someone answer me this at least, I thought i saw before that the v8 and v6 Pypes are exactly the same but the v8 has 4.5 tips and v6 have 4 inch tips. Is this correct, just wondering cause I can get the v8 system for $100 cheaper

You should go to the v6 section. Somebody should be able to help. Or on the top right of the page hit search....then type in the exhaust and cai your looking at then hit enter. You should get some kind of feedback.

I read a comment somewhere that the Pypes system was not a good fitting product and the guy putting it on had to have his muffler shop cut off and reattach some hangers and make some other modifications. As far as intakes, CAI and Rotofab seem to be the two favored products.

I cannot help with either of your choices but I can give first hand information on two different ones. I purchased a 2015 V6 RS this month (just turned 1300 miles after the trip to GM Nationals at Carlisle, PA 200 miles each way for me) and I installed a Cold Air Inductions (CAI forum brand name) and at the GM Nationals had an axle back Magnaflow exhaust done. The quality and fitment (as well as performance) of the CAI cold air induction kit is excellent. Having done cold air kits on numerous Vettes this one has better quality, fitment and "looks" then any other system I've used. The CAI kit yielded .2 in drag strip ET and 2 mph (1/4 mile track) and that was with very low mileage on the car, so it may even get better as the engine breaks in. On the Magnaflow exhaust I can say it's what the car needs from the factory. I will test the exhaust performance this Wednesday if the weather holds, but the sound is excellent. The trip back home was on the PA Turnpike and at 75 mph on a "slightly rough" surface (concrete with seperation seams, and you know how they make noise) the car registered 90 - 92 DB (yes I have a DB meter) and approx 88 - 90 DB on smooth pavement. Under "slight" acceleration at 70 mph, it registered 94 DB (if you held your foot steady). These readings were with the windows up, AC on lowest fan setting, radio off & unit in my hand resting on my right leg, pointed at the radio dial. The quality of the Magnaflow is good, and my only complaint now would be that I feel the tips should come further out of the body.

I run 2 catch cans...

Solo sounds and looks the best. 0-60 MPH In-Cabin sound, windows rolled up, normal Auto mode.

I did see about some having fitment issues with Pypes but for a catback that is in my price range. Also was looking at mrt 1 axle backs any like them? I know cai is the preferred but I don't see paying that much currently looking at and liking Injen short intake.

If you like loud and do a lot of highway driving, I would suggest get a set of straight pipes with some solo j pipes. |

I would recommend the Cold Air Induction brand CAI for sure. I would also have consider I stallibg a catch can- I have caught about 2ounces in 2000 miles so it will add up over time. I installed Elite Engineering Brand.

I have a Volant intake for it that I'm no longer using. It has only about 500 miles of use on it. Here's a link to the one I have.
