It sounds like you had a great trip!
Sadly, I can't make it to the mid 160s.......I discovered that my limiter hits at 159 which is why I am seriously thinking about the Steeda intake, pulley and tune to add 100+ ponies and remove the limiter. |

Your cross-country trip must have been quite the experience, Rick. Sorry to have read about your mechanical difficulties, but I can relate to having mechanical issues well away from home. Incidentally, my wife's sister had a car very much like yours back in the late 60's. I'm quite sure that it was even the same color.
Jan - one of the tricks to keeping rain out of the car at a track day when you are almost always required to keep windows next to occupied seats open is to maintain speed. Unfortunately, this is working at cross-purposes to an introductory track day . . . bummer. It took me a while to get used to the GoPro, and I still have to check that it's shooting video and that I didn't let it beep an extra time to "stills". Great news, Skip. Abaucom - bet you're glad to be done with court. Do try to avoid owning any of that cyclist's error (and good on the cyclist for owning up to it, too rare of a thing anymore). Take Diane's advice of not putting your driving on hold. The weekend before last I finally got to enjoy the Father's Day gift from my daughter. She bought me into an Exotic Car driving experience for one car, and not advertised was the opportunity to add more laps in the same or in another car at a relative bargain price. Although helmets were not required (which at the 65 - 70 mph in a parking lot that I know for fact was possible I kind of question) I did wear mine at least partly for recording my own videos for a different view point than the available car cameras were taking. First up, 5 laps in a Ferrari F430 Then 7 laps in a Lamborghini Gallardo (the original gift) and 3 laps in a Porsche 911 Turbo S no, I wasn't going to waste any bucket-list drives just cruising and coasting . . . Took this long to get everything put together. Norm

Cool! I'll watch the videos when I get home! Looks like a lot of fun. They do those type events at the National Corvette Museum track. Maybe I will get to partake in one someday.

Had a great time on our road trip. I actually miss it!
Looks like everyone had a great time this weekend! I need some plug in to watch the videos, will deal with that later today. Great pics Jan. Sounds like fun Normagene. Back to work today. Nothing like a punch in the face from reality.

That looked like an absolute ball. The engine notes were awesome. The Porsche sure did have a lot more tire squall.

Well crap! I guess the Murphy's law day I had on Saturday at the Fest was just foreshadowing for what was to come when I headed back to work. My slow morning turned into a troubling day of: your job is about to change so pick your poison. It is not horrible, yet. It appears I will have a job it is just a matter of how badly I will hate it. I have 3 choices currently of positions I can take. One is a very bad choice & the 2 others have pros & cons. I have to decide really quickly. Grrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!

Good luck with the transition Jan.
How about some photos Skip? ![]() I had to replace a 25' section of drip line tonight. Digging a hole on 104* temps was not fun this evening.

Cool pics Rick.
Okay so I go in today in one job position not knowing what job position I will be in tomorrow. Why in the heck to companies know for months that there is a financial problem, wait doing nothing until it is a state of crisis then try to knee jerk solutions on the backs of the front line staff who are the ones who bring in the money? I will survive but I am really worried about my preschool aged clients who have no one else who has no idea how to help them. That is what I am good at and they will just be SOL. Rant over. Coffee time!

Many managers still believe they can fill your position with any number of unemployed folks that are still looking for a job. Although that line of thinking was accurate 5 years ago, it is no longer viable today. But many managers still do not value experience in an existing candidate, only how much $$ they can save if you are replaced with inexperience.
I only say that because any changes, or "re-invention" is done with no regard to current employees. Yes, in most cases, it is a knee-jerk reaction from management when upper management throws down new demands. Also working against folks like us that are "older", we are viewed as rigid and resistant to change and, if we do not change, it gives management cause to let us go. Hope it works out for you Jan.

It is looking like I will probably take a position in 2 local schools. One is just a block from my house & the other not very far away & is a brand new school. The new school's principal used to be my next door neighbor & was asst. principal at a school I used to work in. I still have to talk to the North Region Director to iron out details but that is the option that looks best at this point. I still dread the transition. I just hope this is the last transition I have to go through until I retire in 4 more years. Here is a link to my pics & videos from the fest. I still am working on downloading videos.
