Tapshift vs Manual

Okay so let's put them side by side.
A6 with headers, Cai, throttle body, 3.73 gears, tuned.
M6 with headers, cai, throttle body, 3.73 gears, tuned.

From a 30 roll who's gonna take it? Will tap shift make a difference and keep up with the manual? Or will the manual kill.
when I race I usually start the first race in "s" no tapshift. Just to determine if I need to use tapshift. Because when you go from a 30 and you floor it, the car lags or slingshots causing L's ...round 2 I'll use tapshift and there's no lag or slingshot it jumps hard and leaves the opponent in the dust. So how much different would the 2 cars be?

10 times out of 10 the manual car will destroy a car using paddle shifters. Now if you get them at a 30 roll and you force 1st gear in the auto and then as soon as you floor it let the computer take over shifts the auto will be more consistent and depending on the driver could beat the manual more often.

Its been a while since I messed with an auto car but the best thing I did to my 2000 Z28 was a torque converter. I had a Yank PT4200 with 3.73 gears and it was a monster back then.

I have the auto and at 30 mph if I floor it when in S mode, it drops down in gear and takes off like a scared rabbit. If in competition mode it will break loose the tires. I also have the scoop washer delete and with air moving in at 30 mph it flat out gets it.

Also running the range device so I am always running on all 8.

The Auto in S mode has much less lag and hop. I put it in S mode for city driving. The car is smoother that way , in D mode the engine wants to punish you. Six speed manual would win the race.

If you know how to drive six speed get it. I only got the auto because I never driven a six speed in my life.

Ive never had a manual beat me, mod for mod, or even a manual that out-modded me.

You can say "yeah but that was just the driver's fault", but when you race, there will always be a driver in the other car haha

Its not smoother, and the engine isn't "punishing" you, what the hell does that mean. "S" simply holds the gears out longer when you are in the right powerband. Its a fuel efficiency thing.

On an SS, the paddle shifters do lag, but still will probably outshift most humans driving a manual. Though the manual will end up with more power to the wheels because of drivetrain loss on the auto.

FYI , the new 8speed on the C7 and the 2016 Camaro is a game changer .No longer will the 6 speed stick do anything better or faster than the new 8 speed auto . Checkmate to the stick. And is is an option on the 2016 Camaro SS.
