Yes, tell them not to install it and make sure they don't...

Hocking Ride...

Look at your calendars. Looks like peak folliage is mid-late October so don't put those cars up yet! I have TONS of information on a driving tour and a waterfall tour. I have directions and maps to show everyone. Looks like a great time.

Dates to consider:

October 17th or October 24th.

For the ride, my suggestion is to meet at Washington Court House in the morning then head to Rockbridge, where the tour begins. All routes (Cinci, Dayton and Georgetown) go through Washington CH. The Columbus folks would have to just meet us at Rockbridge as its WAY out of their way to go to Washington CH. We can really open this up statewide if we want...

Think about the September meet dates, times and places. We need to schedule another meeting to discuss this. Somewhere we can sit down. I think Sunday went well so maybe we can pick a place and meet up like September 20th or 27th. I was thinking maybe meet at Union Center Blvd (two exits south of Tylersville) where the Rave theater is. Maybe meet at Paneras meeting room or at Red Robin. Something to think about. YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS RIDE!!

If I were to suggest something, I'd say Sunday, September 27th, 6:00 pm at some restaurant at Union Center exit off I75 in West Chester Ohio.

Thoughts?

If you do it on the 19th, it's the last night I'm in town.

Just let me know when. Hopefully I won't have anything major on those days. I figure I can probably go home on the Fridays before and head up to Washington CH with you guys.

Yes don't let them install it so you don't get holes punched in your fascia. You can wait on a better aftermarket solution that won't need holes created or be like me and take your chances and never put a front plate on. What a shame to destroy the look of the front of this car. I drove a Mustang Cobra for 4 years with no plate and was never pulled over for anything and never harassed for not having a plate. I keep my front plate with me on the rear floor board in case I ever need to produce it.

I assume it would be a minor no point’s ticket for not having it anyway so I would rather pay an occasional fine then punch holes in my fascia and have that ugly plate sticking out there. I have heard rumors that Ohio may drop the front plate requirement. I am hoping for that day.

I will try to meet you all at Rockbridge once you decide on a date.

Any of the suggested meeting days/ride days work for me, except if we meet on the 19th, can we do it later in the afternoon/evening? I am walking the 10k in the Air Force Marathon that morning. (I don't run - if I want to go fast, I do it in my car! )

For you Columbus peeps I was figuring we'd meet in Circleville. You can shoot right down 23 to Circleville. There is a great backroads drive from Circleville to Rockbridge.

I will post all the informations when I get home.

If you plan on Hocking Hills for the fall foilage time, just keep in mind that usually hundreds of other people have the same idea, I used to go down there and you have to drive around looking for a place to park off the side of the road or whatever...maybe send someone ahead with a cellphone and call the car leader and see how or where you can even park....just my $.02....several car clubs also use the parking lot up at the state lodge there....maybe have someone call the lodge and see if they have any groups scheduled to be there, IF I remember ....there used to be an MG club there from time to time...

Just an FYI, I believe the Pumpkin festival is going on there on the 24th - might be a challenge to find meetup/parking.

Yes, I say we need to avoid the pumpkin fest. It gets crazy busy and traffic sucks. Last year I went to Hocking the same weekend and it was hell getting through Circleville. I think we should try to plan for the 17th and only use the 24th as a rain day if the 17th does not pan out.

As far as what pastohio says, he is correct but I think thats ok. Last year I was there in October parking/traffic through the park was not that big of a deal and the Kentucky Fbody club was at Old Mans cave and so was some other sports car club and there were about 40 Lamborghinis and 40 Ferraris there, plus some others mixed in, Mazeratis, Porches etc... What a site to see!

Your car is still gorgeous so it doesn't really matter. I love that color too. When the vert comes out I will probably order it in that color.
