Actually yes, I'd be VERY HAPPY to see one Camaro for every 5 cars. First of all since I'm always driving mine I never get to see it.

Second, good sales means a 2011 model and maybe, JUST MAYBE, a Z28 model down the line at some point.

But anyway just FYI this is a car, not a stock option, if you don't mind me saying. I don't know where you got the idea this car was going to be a limited edtion either. I didn't get that impression after Lutz said "we need to sell 100k of these to justify making the car" and the fact that there was roughly 18k pre-orders. To put that number into perspective, I'm almost positive that number is bigger than the total amount of Challengers sold. Thats right, more people bought the Camaro without even sitting in it then people that bought the dodge.

So yeah, you can call this car whatever you like. Ford fans here even have my permission to call it a polished turd if they feel like it. But rare it is not.

I would just like to point out to everyone that the Camaro was always a car that the masses could afford, thus you will see them everywhere eventually. The Camaro is not, nor was it ever, the car for you if you want to be the only one in town with one.

Right now everyone who owns one feels unique, but lest we forget with 32,000 sold nationwide, that's a drop in the bucket compared to what GM has (indirectly) said their sales goals are for the car: 100,000 annually.

You give this car two or three years, and many many many people will own one.

You will be able to find two or three on the lot without having to place an order.

And you will be able to buy it for less than MSRP.

Mustang GT Rebate: $3500

Watching TV last night and saw a commercial for Ford and it ended with a Mustang GT $3500 rebate tease.

So, Ford doesn't like being outsold...The commercial aired primetime in the Upper Midwest (Minnesota)

Looks like we have that beat!

True -- but!......

..........we had derated the plant to 35 jph (jobs per hour) (meaning cars per hour) -- and could not raise it as it would have necessitated hiring more people........ We actually built out the 2001 model early so that we could start the 2002 models up - as we felt people would rather have a 2002 than a 2001 -- and we could not build Camaros or Firebirds after 11:59pm local time on August 31, 2002......(they would no longer meet a new federal standard that became law on September 1, 2002)

But how happy we are that the Camaro has been so well received!

(...I think I just heard 'Thor' rev his engine in agreement......)

...OK I made that last part up....

We have the rare, limited-edition Camaros with GM badges and no backup sensors. There. Feel free to brag to the uninformed.

Umm...

Where would you possibly get that idea from? That was never the intention, and was never stated as such. When this car was OK'd for production, that's what it meant... production. Not "limited run" or whatever...

And if that was your "reason" for wanting to buy this car, then clearly you did not do much research beforehand...

The things people come up with...

Also... buying a brand new car is not a good investment plan... just so you know...
