Another LS3 no oil pressure.

Start the car up today to leave the police dept and now oil pressure. Freaking great. The TSB about the oil pump issues have been out since 2010. You would of thought for a 2013 they would of had a oil pump without the issue.

So is the replacement pump going to be the same piece of shit design as the one I had? If it is I will probably get rid of my car and say goodbye GM.

Sounds like a bad day. Please report back on what you find out. Maybe it's not the oil pump. It's easy to get mad at your car and the manufacturer when things happen.

Well I am going to get rid of my SS. GM has known about these bad oil pumps since 2009 and they still stuck one in my 2013. I am going to look at the Civic Type-R. 300+ HP in that small car should be a blast to drive.

It's under warranty so what's the big deal? With that list of mods and money spent on your Camaro why in world get rid of it for a little Japanese car?

Yeah and then the pump goes out when out of warranty and I am cruising down the highway and blow the engine. I am pissed off that GM has knows about the issues for years and have not fixed it. And they are putting the exact same model # back in. We have checked and no one from GM to dealership says the part has been changed or fixed.

Yeah they have had TB's on it since 2010. They just get updated every year with paying a little more in labor for the repair work.

I have had 5 Honda/Acura's in our household over the years and never such issues with them. Between my 2010 2SS and this one 2SS probably have spent over 2 months in the shop for issues, just dang tired of it.

Love how fanboys of any manufacturer surgar coat failure. An oil pump going out on a two year old car is a huge fail and is a very big deal. Especially with how often it seems to happen ,like the OP said, since 2010. I would be pissed too. It's not like we're talking paint rubs from the spoiler or Bluetooth not connecting with an Iphone. Without the pump the motor is blown unless the owner catches it right away. Many don't. If GM can't purchase a pump that will last, they should at least put a fail safe in that shuts the motor down when the oil pressure is lost. I could never understand why all the manufacturers don't have that type of safety. They use them in my world to protect compressors.

So, in hundreds of thousands Camaro V8's how many oil pump failures have there been?

If I had to guess, they would NOT want to shut the motor off immediately because you would lose all power accessories. You lose the motor at 60mph, you have no power brakes and no power steering.
