For those that say they always back in ...how do you do that in a one way lane with angled parking? That's why I installed a CurbAlert. EZ install and works like a charm

Wrangle it back in place, then decide if you want to replace it or upgrade. And x eleventybillion WTF on the horn ticket. I would have to move out of any state that was that pussified.

I'd be discussing the situation with the owner of the lot. That is considered a safety hazard the way that rebar is sticking out.

Shit OP, I backed my wife's 300 into a spot at my job that has the same crap protruding out but luckily I stopped just as the mud guard made contact. If that would have damaged the car, I'd expect it to be repaired by my company. So backing in or pulling in, that could happen to anyone. For the guy on the horse, look out for low hanging branches. Also, what does NY law have to do with the OC?

![]() ![]() ![]() Oh $#!+ Sorry to see that, especially since the other rebar doesn't even look like it's more than a 1/2" above the concrete tops.

So, question, is your car lowered or stock height? As mentioned, depending what parking lot it was it can be considered a safety hazard and the owning agency can be held liable....again, all depending on where it was and believe it or not, if your car is stock height (won't work if lowered)

If there is a piece of rebar sticking up like that, it is a hazard and you may have a claim. Unfortunately, trying to get the city to pay up may be a long and difficult journey.
Just the other day, I pulled forward into a spot with a big parking lot curb stone and it barely cleared my lower front air dam on the bottom. I mean it was like millimeters of clearance. If I had lowering springs or one of those front splitters, I would have definitely hit it. I use to roll my eyes when people would say to back it in, but now I'm a firm believer in that habit. The only thing I don't like about backing it in is that sometimes it's more difficult than just pulling in forward. But, if that keeps the front end from getting tore up like that, I'm all for it. |
