Thumbs down Muffler Delete

I've seen a lot of posts on here concerning muffler delete. I have a stock 2010 camaro ss with rs package. It has the range afm delete. This is a great car by the way, very fast in stock form. I've tried the dynomax 39494 initially and they are no different than stock. So I decided to return them and try the muffler delete. Idle sounds excellent. Acceleration sounds excellent. Just cruzing, the exhaust note is totally bland. Just a humming sound is all that you will get. Still looking for a moderate exhaust for a great car. 5th gen!!!! The best.

I went with Stainless Works Retro chambered catback exhaust and like it a lot. No drone @ cruising speed and sounds good when gettin-on-it... Good luck .. there is a bunch out there to choose from.

That's why everyone has said that it isn't much different than stock unless you get on it. So you should have read and known what you'd get with a muff delete. If you're not happy, you're going to have to do the Cats with the muff delete or do headers and maybe puts some muffs back on if too loud.

There are plenty of youtube vids of all different configurations. Just do some homework first.

I'm running the Solo axle back with J pipes

Honestly at cruise I don't notice any difference over stock but once you get above 2K RPMs she really sings.

Corsa catback sounds great and no drone. I'm hoping it gets a good bit more bite to it once I throw some LTs on it though.

Well that's how all exhausts are gonna sound shile cruising lol what do u expect it to sound the same as when punching it? Anyways if u get something else you will probably be less happy since it will be even quieter. What you need to do is take out that huge resonator that the L99 has and replace it with an x-pipe or something. HUGE difference

Isn't this really a resonator delete? (axle back) Does that enhance the roar? Seriously, I'd like to do it too.

I have never seen anyone say a muffler delete was the best way to go or the best thing they have done to their car. They are considering the $100 to do it and to get somewhat of a decent result. I would say your comments on the muffler delete are worth the $100 to do it.

I tried the delete and all it sounded like was a car that needed a muffler--No Tone. I went with the SP LTs and the Retro CatBack

give the flowmaster super 10 mufflers a try ,there anything but bland .cherry bomb extreme mufflers are another pick for a non bland sound.

magnaflow #11386 is the part number for there 2.5" X pipe muffler that takes the place of the factory H pipe on both ls3 and L99 cars
