Well, I bought mine at 55. Sure, some A-holes will say "Midlife crisis," but the truth is that, as a responsible married Father with 4 children, it didn't make financial sense for me to do it years before. And quite honestly, I didn't like much of what I saw in terms of new muscle cars to spring for something years ago. HOWEVER, when I saw the 2010 Camaros, it was like "Wow, now there's a design I really love." Bottom line is I'm having fun now and sort of rewarding myself for all the years I've put everyone else first. Life is short. Spend some of it now or save it for the nursing home. Hmmmmm, let me think which one I want to save for.

As for some wives not "allowing" her man to buy one, it depends on the financial situation. If your living in a rat hole apartment and the heat, food and other essentials are hard to come by, you have no right looking at a Camaro. I don't blame a woman in that case. However, if the situation is different, and "she" thinks it's a waste because "she" isn't interested, then that's just being selfish on her part. Any woman who threatens to leave in that situation is just looking for a way out anyway. She wants you to go ahead and do it so she has an "excuse" to walk out. I've seen it before. I know a guy whose wife refused to let him go to any Bachelor parties (strippers), wigged out if he even looked at anything remotely pornographic, etc., but when it came to "taking care" of her man at home, she had a headache eight days a week. In the end, she throws him out (he did none of the above) and brings home a boyfriend a week after he's gone. His bed wasn't even cold yet. He towed the line for what????? Go get the car you want!!!!!!!!

I totally agree with you, nobody on his right mind would even think about buying one of these beauties in that situation.

Well with my ex was more like a jealousy issue, she probably thought I wanted to buy that car to pick up chicks.

So I ended up buying a truck and a SUV. We split up a few months ago & guess what's was the first thing I did.

I don't know why most people think this is a midlife crisis thing.

Not my case.

My wife enjoys clothes, shoes and purses. We're both happy.
The DRZ400 is a wheelie king! I know I had one, just not bored like yours. I can only imagine what the power on that little bike is now. It was torquey with what I had full exhaust, K&N, tune! I also owned a gixxer as well, used it mainly as a track bike... how I miss my track days, motogp is where its at!

My username tells you how I feel about the OP's question. WTH is a mid-life crisis anyway? If I had the money and time I have now at 25 or 30 years old, I'd probably be in much more trouble....

Hey now, I resemble that remark (49) and for your in formation, the Camaro was the WIFE'S idea. Granted I WANTED a Camaro (or even a Mustang) but I was thinking practical economy car, (gas mileage, cheaper insurance etc) and when my car was totaled by a drunk driver a week before Christmas I started looking for that cheap, gas-sipper.

The wife sent me to the dealer to look at two cars she picked out for me and they were both Camaros, one a '13 and one a '14. It's now history that I chose the '13 and have loved every second of it.

I've got Camaro juice in my blood as this is the third Camaro I've owned (and the best so far).
