Can someone recommend a good polisher? I used to detail cars many years ago and the buffer I have is a Black & Decker that is at least 20 years old. It still works but doesn't sound all that good anymore. I'm sure any bearings in it are toast. I would primarily be using it for machine polishing a couple times of year for the family vehicles and occasionally a friends car or whatever. I don't need anything "top of the line" or for commercial use, just something decent. I've never used anything orbital. What's the recommendation? What do I use for pads? I used to always use wool pads. Are these still popular or has foam taken over?

What's your take on poor boys paste wax or chemical guys xxx wax ? I have a friend that's interested in those and having tried over 30 waxes those are two that I never touched. Are they any good ?

Just updating the ultima trim guard recommendation. The new formula is water based and it noticeably different. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT AT ALL.

I read the sticky and...
I was looking for something for underhood... like engine cover and strut towers... I know strut towers can be cleaned with whatever is used on the outside, but the plastic engine cover seems to stay dusty. Ideas?

Is there an updated version of this list floating around somewhere? I'm finally ditching my 'lazy' bug and wanting to detail the interior of my turd for the first time.
