Too Many Camaros?
Here's my big fear.
As much as I love the Camaro and I am so excited for the first time in my life about buying a car, I am terrified that by the time I get the car, it will be like the Mustang. I mean, you see them every 5 blocks, being driven by grandma's and they come in the most atrocious colors. Do you think Chevy will overproduce these cars to the point that they are no longer special?

Good. Let's hope so. That's how GM makes money and that's what will give GM incentive to build a 6th gen.

Dude, I went up to Yosemite yesterday, and between Oakhurst and Yosemite (about 5 miles MAYBE) I must have seen at least 20 late model Mustangs, at least 8 of which were brand new. I kinda doubt you have to worry about that TOO much. And besides, it doesn't REALLY matter, does it? If you love the car, then it's special to you, and that's that.

I hope so, but with only ONE factory, it will take a bit. think about it, currenty they are at about 41000 units for the entire WORLD, and yes, some are going overseas. they are going out all over, if you live in a big city, you are more likely to see one, if not, they might be few and far between. but either way, its still one of the nicest looking rides on the planet.

I think we will of course see more and more but I think it would be hard to have the streets saturated as much as the Mustang. And this car will still turn heads for a long time to come.

You're seeing many years of Mustangs all together. We won't catch up to that big head start for quite a while.

I for one want to see more Camaro's on the street then Mustangs. If the new Camaro can outsell the Mustang every month I'd be thrilled. Means a better chance for a Z28 in a few years, better chance that they keep making them.

The Camaro will definitly be like the mustang. By next year youll be seein far more Camaros on the road. But dont worry too much, the Mustang gets the 5.0 next year so the competition wil be pretty tough. Therefore i think it will be about the same when it comes to howmnay you will see.
next year will definitly be different from having the car this year. |

I feel ya but at that same time its still a production car. But it does suck to see some granny driving it or some young kid, i kind of go ya there. But at the same time this car is built for the masses. It will never be a mustang. mustangs i beleive sell over 100k a year. Camaros in the 4th GEN were only selling about 40k a year. Thats probably what you are going to see. If you look around you dont see as many older camaros as you do tauraus, hondas etc.

If you (meaning anyone reading this) bought this car to fill a NEED to feel special and unique, then you bought this car for the wrong reason.
