Easy around town driving, no A/C, about 3-4 mpg... Wide open throttle one mile pass, 4-5 gallons per mile.... This is at 15.00~~ dollars a gallon...

Fun to Drive and Awesome MPG Too

Round trip to Michigan, for the 50th Factory Fest was 3,122 miles and I got 24.205 MPG for the entire trip. That included three 100 MPH blasts and one gear banging launch to next stop light. Of course, OnStar already knows that.

The last time I posted in this then-new thread was December 2011 - approximately 5 months into owning my convertible. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...7&postcount=49. Right around that time, I switched from Regular, 87 Oct. to Premium 93 Oct. hoping to get some better get-up-and-go. Did that for a few years then switched back to 87 Oct. to compare. There really wasn't much difference, either in get-up-and-go or in mpg's, so have been filling up with 87 Oct. for the last few years again.

Now, after a little over 5 years of ownership and 8.9k miles on the odo, "Lifetime" average for my convertible is 17.738 mpg. Sometimes better, sometimes a little worse (depending on traffic). I generally only drive her on weekends and holidays. Here is the link to my mpgtune.com page. http://mpgtune.com/fillupHistory.php...printVersion=1

19.9 mpg averaged over 28600 mostly highway miles with average speed of 46.8 mph during the 39month lease. I got pics to prove but not online to link to. Damn good car, next owner will be very happy with it.

The most I paid per gallon for gas was in Olivet, Michigan, at $3.11 pg and the least I paid was in Topeka, Kansas, at $2.37 pg.

Link to my fuelly page. Average 14.2. Best 17.6. I drive pretty agressively around town but have a 36 mile each way open highway commute with no traffic to balance it out. I'd say I'm around 10 city 20 highway.

One of these days I want to try and hypermile it. 60 cruise control flat interstate and see what I can get. I have had as high as 28 indicated when I reset the computer after work but it tanks when I get back into the city.

My favorite MPG though is from a track day. See image. I filled up right before near the track then again right after. In 1 hour of track time, I covered 84 miles and used 13.142 gallons for a track MPG of 6.39. Also had an average speed of 74 MPH for the time at the track.

I was at 16.5, after 2 weeks of the 3.91's in I am at 18.1. I do a lot of freeway driving at speeds where 6th wasn't usable so ran it in 5th. Now I can use 6th at 55mph, so I actually gained some mpg.

16.8 My highway driving is negligible and traffic around here is the worst. I also don't drive with the intention of 'saving' gas.

15 mpg. 2SS, Auto trans but I usually manually shift. Mostly local driving. You need to pull up the lifetime average on the OnStar app if you want the truth.
