Can you give more detail on the adapter? I looked but couldn't find "gen5diy". Is this it? I am wanting to use my factory rear camera on my new HU http://www.gen5diy.com/my-l-camera-h..._description=1

Also, I am adding a front camera, to not curb check my front end. Trying to decide how I want to do it.
1. Put both on the HU (Alpine ILX-007), and make the front camera work on the AUX input- I would still need to relocate the existing rear camera to new HU
2. Leave the Rear on the mirror, and put the front on the Camera input but would need to toggle switch the front.
3. Use the adapter you are talking about for the back, and figure out how to put the front on a toggle switch to the mirror - This is what I would prefer, but not sure it can be done easily.

Opinions?

strickland, the part from gen5 is call a DOME HARNESS...he has 2 types..one is to keep the rear camera and mirror camera view together, on the HU and MIRROR, the other type (i used this) is just have rear camera on my HU,..(kenwood) and then i ran a camera from front of my heritage grill up into back of the kenwood..which had connection for that. there is a front camera button for when i park..shows parking curbs nice.. the other of course is when i am in rev. to see my backing in. the splitter is a plug n play on passenger side outboard footwell area..the harness comes with a 6inch tail rca.you need to add a 4-5' rca to HU,,ez.. ohh and you will need a rca female to rca female barrel connector. hope that helps..

I'm not splitting the signal and I don't have the lines either. I have the Pioneer AVH-X4800BS Head unit.

No lock button

My 2014 has MyLink, but only has the hazard button between the wheels. Will this kit still work for me?

Yes. If you want to make the lock/unlock switch on the kit functional, you connect two wires from the PAC kit to the BCM. Its in the installation instructions.

Thinking about upgrading to the new unit. Anyone have any issues that can't be corrected?

I think that is only an issue when swapping from a MyLink radio. Those of us with the pre-MyLink radios don't have that luxury.

Yes, fan speed won't be an issue with me.

I spent quite a long time on the phone with PAC today. They are stumped as to why I am having the problems I am having such as the lose of memory when power is disconnected and the SWC programming problem. They gave me a sequence to reset the PAC unit back to factory and try again. I'm several hundred miles from the car so it will have to wait until the weekend.
I am having the same issue, if I lose power and even when charging (battery tender) I lose my SWC functionality. I disconnected my battery to test and sure enough I lose the SWC (I am not sure why I lost the controls when the battery was on a charger but I am thinking the SWC module may be very sensitive). I am not happy about this and may remove the PAC kit as removing my radio every time I lose power is unacceptable. I'm just not sure yet and I want to give PAC the opportunity to respond because I do love the kit for everything else but to me this would be a royal PITA and a deal breaker.

Stay tuned for an update in the next couple of days.
