I'm confused, if he is the scammer type person why would you guys be texting him and giving him your phone numbers?
You could end up with tons of spam or worse. Anyone can get your house number, where you work , current location etc.

Plenty of apps exist that give you a free temporary phone number to text with, highly recommended for any craigslist transaction - scammer or not
