Personal Device Interface Module

2010 Chevrolet Camaro
This Personal Device Interface Module (PDIM) allows the user to plug their remote audio devices (iPod, MP3 player, etc.) into the USB port. The PDIM allows for command and control of the remote audio device through the radio and steering wheel controls.

Do these cars have a USB port? Do they have steering wheel controls for the radio? Mine dosen't. How would this device work?

Ditto. My wife wanted to add this option into her car. I'm not sure if I'll be able to modify the existing steering wheel or need to buy a new one. I wouldn't think that adding the USB port would be a major issue, but you never know.

My understanding is that it will add the USB. Since you don't have the steering wheel controls you will have to control the ipod ect... from the radio head only.

As for the 4 gauge pack i'm told it will install in any 2010 Camaro, but will need activation by the dealer.

Hello Scotty, do you know what cables come with the PDIM (besides the USB cable)? Is there a 20 pin harness?

If they dont have the bugs worked out off the UBS yet it is not worth getting.

It's fine with an iPod but almost annoying with anything else. They FAILED miserably when it came to writing the software for this.

Yes but with issues... limited to only 2500 songs, indexes every time you start the car (can't change tracks, etc while it's indexing), doesn't remember settings such as random, doesn't remember previous playlist (e.g. if you were listening to an album). So yea, it works but it's kinda annoying. All of this is true with any device but an iPod as the car lets the iPod handle everything and just gets the analog audio from the iPod (everything is controlled from the head unit/steering wheel though).
