Yes, you can just use your fingers to put them back in. Just make sure you push them all the way in. As far as timing... I'm no expert, but I honestly think it shouldn't take any more than a few minutes to reset. I think that letting it sit for hours before putting them back in is just overkill, and will still have the same affect. But let me emphasize that I'm just guessing here...

WOOHOO! I just put the fuses back in and went for a drive.. Wow! what an improvement! from a dead stop the throttle response is much faster and everything is better.. its not like a MONSTER now but it just feels more peppy and easier going

I did a few runs on dynolicious a couple weeks ago.I ran 6.1s with a best of 5.97 249 miles on the car with dealer fuel. Filled the car with 93 an went for a cruise last week then filled again.I did the fuse pull over night and the car sat for a week.I made some runs today 5.3s on all 3 runs 448 miles on the car.I think I can do better yet as I'm just getting the feel for the car.

Noob here...
Picked up my ride this past Wednesday (2SS/A6), made sure dealer put 93 octane in at delivery. Not sure what was in it at the plant. Anyway, car felt great for the first 2 days, then started to feel a little jumpy. May have just been me, haven't owned a car in 20+ years, have always had trucks (last car owned: '87 Camaro). Still had pretty good boost at take-off, but running at cruise speed didn't feel or sound just right. Ran the fuel out and pulled the #5/#20 fuses. Am going to let it sit for 4+ hours until I have to go to work. This should be long enough, yes?

sorry if this has been asked or is a stupid question. But other than the switching to higher octane table what else does this effect/reset ? Would it wipe out any custom tune parameters if you had your car tuned ? If you had AFM turned off would this reset put it back on ?
Good question.

Has anyone heard if/when GM plans to issue a fix for this problem? Or are we going to end up installing switches under the dash that we can just flip whenever we park the car overnight? Or maybe that's going to be their solution???

Hey guys i'm new here, and just got my Camaro last week. I'm not sure what my dealer put in my car for fuel, but it seemed a bit slow. Doing this reset will it cause my car to void its warranty?

PS don't know much about cars.

EDIT: are you guys using TAP shift???

Welcome to C5! To answer your question, the fuse pull will not void the warranty. I don't use tap shift much myself - it's too alien a concept (clutchless manual shifting?!) for me. It'll take some getting used to. Other folks use it constantly.

No problems with the warranty issue. You are only pulling two fuses, and putting them back. ( After the car sits for awhile.) All original equipment.
This resets the memory in the ECM and forces the ECM to start over. It will default to the high octane fuel tables. If you think you have low octane fuel you will need to burn through it and replace with high octane fuel. Other than that the ECM will go to the low octane fuel table again.
