Looking to buy, but insurance is holding me back...
I've been looking to pick up a Z/28 for a while now, but what has stopped me is insurance rates.. I got a quote and it's essentially another car payment! Unfortunately, I have an at fault accident due to someone running me off the road and they just drove off. Also, I'm in Los Angeles which has some of the highest rates because we're a special people, haha.
What's insurance like for you guys? Any suggestions? |

I have Allstate and pay about $1000 per year, no mileage limits, full coverage. No accidents or tickets for about 10 years.

I'm in the Inland Empire, 31, no accidents or tickets anymore, its $752 a year. Its not my primary driver, and I have pretty high limits, and that's with Geico BTW.

About $100/month. AAA insurance. In Michigan, which is a crappy no-fault state (expensive insurance.) It's actually cheaper than my SRT Charger was, and on par with my old Cobra. Now, if we could only get cheaper plates. My registration is based on MSRP, so it costs $400 per year, even though I paid way less than MSRP.

Z/28 is not favored by our Insurance Carriers. I have Kemper - it is my 4th car - premium for Z is $856 per year with 5,000 mile limit, $1,000 deduct. I pay less for my 2016 Porsche GT4, which cost twice as much. I looked around and found no love for the Z with AAA, Allstate, State Farm or USAA.
Is what it is - but when I drive it I really don't care as I am having way too much fun! |

Get a quote from a collector car insurance company, you would be shocked how much less it can be for like coverage(provided it's not going to be your DD) My Z was around 400.00 per year, and stated insured value to boot.

I have a Collector Car policy with Berkeley insurance. $75,000 agreed value for around $800 per year. Other provisions of the policy are the usual.

Check out Geico if you haven't yet. Can't speak for the Z28, but Geico was much lower than other carriers on my ZL1. When others quote rates here, keep in mind that they can vary greatly by state among other factors.

In Western Pa for the Z/28 I pay just short of $700/ year, normal policy with Erie Insurance. The only other registered vehicle I have is a F250 pickup which is $400/yr. No tickets for a couple decades.

Try NCM Insurance if it's not your DD. They can put you in mileage and HPDE packages for way less than you would think. I'm in PA, I'm not sure what CA rates look like.

$1700 a year with State Farm. I'm 39, totaled a car 9 years ago and last speeding ticket was about that time frame all while with State Farm. Have 2 other cars and renter's insurance with them to. I live in the Bay Area CA which doesn't help with costs.
