There's mixed opinions on this, but lucky you for getting a car that doesn't drone with the muffler delete without any J pipes. Some drone so bad you can't hardly stand to be in the car.

One of the main topics here on camaro5 over the years has been eliminating
the exhaust drone after removing the mufflers. Solo Co came out with their
J/Pipe exhaust system because of the Drone. Factory mufflers have a J/Pipe
inside of them to help eliminate the drone.... Now who's wrong?

Your quote from previous posting recommending the muffler delete:

"Thats what I was thinking. Just delete the mufflers. I've had the Solo Axle
Back J/Pipe exhaust for 7 years and love it. Personally I wouldn't want it any
louder and its a deep rumble with absolutely no drone.
Axle back= less expensive, easy install plus you can keep your factory set
up to put back on if and when you sell your Camaro." __________________

Stainless Works = NO J/Pipes = BAD / Drone.
Smokin 14's (post photo #8)

Solo Exhaust - WITH J/Pipes = GOOD / No Drone.

Ok, you got it now ?

I had muffler delete on my car for well over a year and had no drone at all. The afm sounded like crap but drone was not a problem . Most people that have had this set up all agree the drone isnt a problem. Besides its mufflers that imo cause drone.

The AFM is what causes drone, therefor what sounds like crap is called drone.
I can't get over you guys. I don't know how else to explain it.
Can someone else possibly explain this to these guys?

Because the AFM isn't what causes the drone we are talking about.

I have AFM disabled. I get massive drone at 1800-2200 rpm with my exhaust.
We are talking about exhaust drone. Not the crappy sound that comes from AFM activation and running in 4 cylinder mode.

Drone is a resonating sound of lower decibels usually caused by mufflers. Come on now man ....dont be that guy posting afm is drone thats not even close. Delete that before someone sees it. Ive been in many cars that have such severe drone your head feels like its gonna explode. Some guys auctually like drone....but afm is not drone. Ive heard it many times so no need to explain anything to a guy thats heard it many times.
