Sounds alot like the issue mine had after tuning. If I would let it roll in gear and ride the brakes it would start to surge so bad it almost chirp the tires when trying to recover, it would get worse just turning on the AC because it put a slight load on the engine. He finally found that it was putting negetive timing at idle. Not sure if this is exactly how he phrased it but it was something to do with loosing way to much timing and then trying recover would put in tons of timing, tike 40* still at idle.
Mike Norris is the one who tuned and found the problem.
Hope this helps.

Scott
I've never had the AC looked at. Factory condition.

Did your idle do it every time or just half the time or less?

Vengeance didn't show.

Janetty was not doing work.

ARD was pretty busy.

Henderson told me to stop by but I just didn't want to bother them. Cory is a really cool guy.

I have a few to look at the logs when I get a chance. I'm just swamped right now.

Car ran great though. Slowest 12.1 @ 117 on street tires. Never broke 11s though. 3 runs in the 12.0*s fastest 12.03. 100+ pounds of tools in the trunk. The street tires couldn't grip going into second gear. Got really squirley.

Well that sucks, but good the car felt like it ran great. I am interested to see what they come up with or do.

No offense but 117mph trap speed is not what I would call running great. I think a good tuner needs to have a look at your set up. Looks like you have had tough luck with that car because I remember you having the issues when these cars first came out of a low octane problem or something. I hope you get it running right.

But he was running street tires and they would spin on each gear shift he told me on the phone. If would of had DR's on like last year 11's would of been no problem.

He was trying to dial in the tune and thought it was good so I took it out and drove around a couple hours and seemed good. I let the car sit for about 30 minutes and it started doing it when I got back in it. It seemed at first like it was worse right after I started it. But the more we messed with it we couldn't get a definate pattern but if I would ride the brakes and roll like 2 mph it did it most of the time. But this was all in one day since I didn't have the car home I justed noticed it while test driving it. So as far as how often it did I'm not sure since I left it with him until he found the problem.

Contact Howard Tanner at Redline Motorsports (he's on this board) . Tell him your mods and issues. I'm sure he can point you in the right direction.

Well, the gaskets were leaking and I swapped the other one out today. Still no change in the cars behavior.

I'd have prefered a higher trap but feathering the throttle and slipping in second really bad didn't help. However, with about 80 whp and 80 wtq MORE than last year I only come up with 1 mph faster in trap speed is not ideal. But again, I slipped pretty bad in second.

I don't know. I'll get a log file to Mike. Need some free time though.

I need someone to get their hands on it really. I'm sending the datalogs to Vengeance and Henderson. Neither will charge me to asses the files. I'll see what they say.

Would setting the idle a bit higher help? What is it set to now?

Mine is running and driving fanatasticly now, Mike Norris did a great job and spent alot of time making sure it was right. He was at the C5 fest and even done some final trans adjustments at the track for me to get it the way I wanted it. I would highly recommend him as a tuner but also think the closer you can find a quality tuner the better.

I stopped by several times. You seemed to be busy and I was always doing something too.

No big deal. If it wasn't something that you could find quickly then you'd have had to spend too much time.

Your guys told me you weren't though. Well, the guy with the buzzed hair and sunglasses.
