CENTRAL IL Meet May 1st 11am

Yea, I rotate on, off all winter its a pain in the ass. But I dont like the flat spots on the tires. I have gotten them is the past.

Dave_O Contact American Motorhead Magazine they are base out of Pekin and they list all meets and greets. Their first issue this year comes out in April. In our area thats what we grab to see were the meets are. Good people I,m sure they would like to here from you. It will blow their minds to learn you are setting up a Camaro meet and dont even own one. www.gomotorhead.com

You might contact Scott Baum @ Baum Chevrolet, Clinton,Il. He might have some ideas.
Also Twin City Cruisers has a show in Normal, IL @ Von Maur's parking lot and there's as many as 200 cars and it's open to anyone. Haven't seen their 2010 schedule but it's was 2nd Saturday evening of the month beginning in April the past few years.

Sweet, sounds good. When I get confirmation, I will let them know! Applebees is suppose to be getting back to me soon, I just talked to the manager thurs and the GM wasn't in. He was suppose to call me in the next couple days after that but still hasn't. On spring break right now, gonna go back there as soon as I get back down there next monday.

If Applebees doesn't get back to me, I will definitely contact him! Every where I have been looking either doesn't respond or has said no. I don't get it, these businesses don't want guaranteed service down there...

And I had been told about the Twin City Cruisers, and when I looked at their site, most of their meets are themed. I was thinking of contact them once I found out when and where we were having this, and see if they would want to do theirs that evening.

Forget the big chains. A lot of them feel like they are going to get the walk in business anyway, especially on a weekend. Check with some of the local businesses (Mugsy's comes to mind, but I don't know if their lot is big enough) or a chain that's not right on Veterans (such as Hooters). Having a guaranteed draw would probably be more enticing to those types of places.

Valid points. I have thought about Mugsy's, but their lot is usually pretty full, with their overflow lot also having cars... Even during the day, but I may try there next. And Hooters may, or may not. I thought the same thing with Buffalo Wild Wings, and they said no.

***UPDATE***

First: Applebees never called back so I go in today to find out I need to e-mail someone about it! WTF!? Apparently they recently changed the process. I don't know if it was the other guys way of avoiding it or what, but whatever.

Second, and GOOD NEWS!: Went to Avanti's after Applebees. The GM there actually came out and talked with me, rather than just relaying a message! He seemed VERY excited about working something out! They have never had an event like this before, so he is really looking forward to having it and said to give him the weekend to check things out and he'd get back to me by Tuesday. The problem is that Saturday noon is there busy time, so I mentioned that we were flexible on the time, it didn't have to be noon and also, that if need be Sunday could work but we are hoping for Saturday.

Alright guys, I went to Famous Dave's this afternoon (just got back) and spoke with the John, one of the Managers. He said that the main guy (Owner I believe), Steve, probably would have no problem with it considering we would probably end up going in for something to eat and/or drink. He even showed me the section of the parking lot for us to 'set up'. He also suggested the May 1st as the best Saturday to use out of the 3 that we were shooting for, which was the same day I was leaning towards. Once I contact Steve I will update again. I need to find somewhere that I get decent cell reception or set up an appointment to speak with him to not worry about cell reception down here.

So tentatively this meet is set for May 1st at Noon at the Famous Dave's on Veterans Parkway in Bloomington, IL.
