Edit: After seeing that vid, I would love to run that T/A. I like comparing cars at the track. My nephew has a 99 Z28 auto with the same mods except tires and ran a 13.2. My guess is that SS needs a fuse pull. If that T/A has just the mods posted then it's a 13.0 car at best.

ppl have posted links to 1/4mile calc's for you to compare the two cars, along with whp dynos from the same dyno both with stock cars! (06x6GTO LPE dyno - Speed74SS LPE dyno). What more do you want! I have run a GTO just to see the outcome, it was VERY close!!

But, both of you are doing nothing more than bashing a fellow LSx car because you are biased on what you own. Which starts to advertise this FORUM has one way street mindset!! And on top of that 0 FACTUAL information.

In the GTO guys defense, most of you are the only ones posting FACTS!!! I understand that some of you posted stupid arguments, but now so have I in trying to prove a point.

It is a fact that I raced a bolt-on GTO and won. It is a fact that my car ran a 12.7 with nothing more than a tune and intake. I don't get your point. What is it exactly? Your pissed you can't drive so now you're trying to convince yourself that a stock GTO and stock SS are equal performers? That is an inaccurate fact.

... So lets get back to some facts and the point of this thread. The fastest time recorded in Ohio by a stock 2004 GTO is: 12.870 @ 109.87 by QWK90GT (2004 M6 stock) ... not too much behind your time.


Now lets look what this forum has recorded so far for stock cars, although I know its not close to complete yet:

1. 2quick - 12.61 @ 111.60 mph, (LS3, M6)
2. nhra stocker - 12.62 @ 110.30, (LS3, M6)
3. b20 - 12.81 @ 108.73 mph, (LS3, M6)
4. speedy6963 - 12.87 @ 109.08, (LS3, M6)

That's one hell of a time for an LS1 GTO but if we're going to talk records then the fastest SS is a 12.6. Let's be fair, the car hasn't even been out a year yet. Better times are coming.

I wouldnt call the GTO ugly...
I have owned a 04 and now a 06 and they are beuatiful,a true muscle car for sure..

As stated the interior in my GTO is nicer than the camaro,I have looked at both closely
GM dropped the ball on the radio and dials in the Camaro,just doesnt look right to me.

Power wise the LS3 is no joke and mods even better than my LS2...
We've done a few now at the shop and they produce powa..

Still the Camaro isnt cheap (35K) and u are going to see ALOT of them come the summer
GTO's are sorta rare,sorta like the GN of its time as they came and went..

I still dont know what I wanna do, I do like the CAMARO but I'm not sure if I like it enough to jump ship on my GTO.....

One things for sure the camaro is beautiful....

now thats what I have seen this is typical,im sure the camaro is stock,but it does have way more cubes and that looks like a ls1 GTO,but again it cant be stock.

Obviously not, he can't even stage his car. You can see my time slips in the fast list thread. I'm not a great driver, but much better that that guy. There really is no way to argue with results. But maybe if you post up some more vids of people running 14's in there Camaro then I'll start to believe mine is slower. All your doing is sounding like an idiot and proving you can't drive.

Maybe Ohio 2010's are slower. When I went to the track a full bolt-on LS1 GTO was running 13.40's all day. They stock A6 SS (1stGM on the board) I was with was able to run a 12.9-consistent 13.0's, things looked a little different to me I guess. There was a guy with a Transformers SS auto that was there for his first time at the track and was able to get it down to a 13.2

The arrogance by a few 5th gen owners in this thread is pathetic.

Thankfully most of the 5th gen owners around my area are cool guys who can appreciate any GM Muscle instead of beating their dicks to their own car and bashing somebody elses.

If I wanted a 9 SEC GTO I would build one..I am happy with my 11.80 NA GTO

Bottom line is I do like the Camaro but I dont know if I like it enough to sell my GTO...
