If you back it to the lip of your garage, the extra inch helps a lot and there is no need to jack it up.

What do you mean by lip? I would like to get an understanding so i can do it your way since i dont own any jacks.

the concrete slab of most garages is different from the driveway slab. it is usually elevated about an inch off of the ground from the driveway. they are saying back the car where the tires are just about to roll off the lip so you get another inch of ground clearance plus any slope on the driveway can be used for you to get under the car more easily.

but, not all garage slabs have this lip.

Oh i see now. Yea mine doesnt have a lip but i have a driveway so i can back it up just enough to get under there.

There is different GM gear oils for the A6 and M6 cars.

The half shafts are solid and the side bearings are integral to the pumpkin. The figure 8's are to work the LSD after the fluid change. All IMO of course and YMMV.

Ok so I am going to change the rear diff oil in my A6 for the first time tomorrow (16487 miles). What oil would you all recommend? I will be buying from advanced auto. Also do I need to get a friction modifier and if so what would you recommend? This will be my first time changing diff oil in a new camaro.

'Mobil 1' Synthetic ATF (Synthetic LS 75W90 for the M6)
and 2.5oz of Gear Oil Additive

We used royal purple for trip to fest. With the A6 you need to put in gear when refilling. We have our buddie Eddie that shares his lift in his garage. Much easier to work on.

For those that used Royal Purple, any need to use a friction modifier? According to their website it doesn't appear you need to.
