What has worked best for me on aluminum intake tubes is a thermal barrier coating on the inside like they put on piston tops. On the outside I use a black coating that sheds heat. Using the types of coatings they put on headers makes the intake slow to heat up and slow to cool down. On a drag only car where the heat is not there for any period of time it might work. But for a street car it has not worked out for me.

One day shy of 9 weeks my intake is finally done and ready. Will be picking it up either today or tomorrow.
Will post an update when I finally get it re-installed.

Intake is on. The outside if the intake was ceramic coated.
IATs are about 2-3 degrees cooler while driving. Sitting the intake still heat soaks. It's 92 here IATs while sitting got up to about 115. The stock intake would get in the 120/130 degree range. The uncoated Halltech would be about the same as stock. It takes a little bit shorter to go down to temp compared to uncoated.
