Okay. So I had to look around to find where to hook up the ABL dash light. Ended up hooking to the Black wire and Yellow wire in the headlight dimmer control. Just pulled out the headlight switch and found which wire the dimmer switch controlled. Spliced into them and got the ABL working. Note - if you decide to splice into these wires, there are two Yellow wires. You need the one in the middle of the block, and not the one in front. You can use a meter to test it - the correct one is the one with the voltage that fluctuates when you adjust the dimmer switch.
I also connected the ABL just to the right of the guages so I did not have to run a wire all the way across the dash. Came out great! |

Okay, here are some pics of the install. Notice I removed the instruments and put the inverter back there with double sided tape. Sorry for the blurry final pic, but hard to take pictures in low light.

Nice work! Now you have something that hardly anyone else out there has...complete working ABL!

yes it does. it bothered me from day one that it was never completed from factory. glad everyone figured out how to do it, and everyone was very helpful.

This is def an awesome mod and judging by Blacky's pics, the interior of the car looks sick when the lights are on. How bright is the el wire though, is it distracting when driving? Also, for thos interested this site has el wire that bounces to sound:
http://www.thatscoolwire.com/store/i...%2D12v%2809%29 If you dont like the light bouncing to sound it has a mode where light is stationary. I think I'm leaning towards this one however the ease of use that would come with the tail el wire is lacking in this one. Def want to do this though. |

El Wire is not bad on the eyes at all. Also, if you tap into the right wires, it will dim with the other dash lights by the control knob.

Very nice. I tried reading the earlier threads and I have never done wiring before except the install of these underdash LEDs in my current car. But those were already put together and all I had to do was connect to the car battery so it was stupid easy. These however seem like I may have a bit of a problem figuring it all out.

the wiring for this mod really isnt bad at all. you have 3 soldering connections to make. and one connection using the t-tap connectors. believe me anyone can do this mod. it looks alot harder than it really is. and it will be well worth the effort when its completed. as for brightness its brightness is equal to the brightness around the doors and if you didnt know you would swear it came from factory with the lights going across the dash
