I just went through this, crappy dealer, tore my dash out, broke stuff, never fixed A/C, put it back wrong, left out a grommet, floor got flooded, broke engine cover. I stayed on GM and went to another dealer who fixed the AC, found several issues the other dealer "fixed", found the missing grommet hole, replaced my carpet, replaced dash parts and engine cover that was broken and did an alignment the other dealer "did".

If you don't go the lawyer route, do an full inspection, tell the GM rep you will get back with them on "how the car is doing" so you have a change to run the AC and check out everything. If it is a good rep they won't have an issue with it. Make them take this to that dealers zone rep.

You need to write a letter to GM, board of directors, zone rep, federal trade and attorney general. They shouldn't get a way with crappy work like that.

Well, just got back from picking up my car and so far it's not good. As soon as they gave me the keys, I did a quick look through the dash to see if there was anything out of place. I had to snap in a few panels, but I couldn't see anything broken. Then I checked the glove compartment, since they were supposed to replace it after the previous visit. What do I see again? That rubbery gunk holding the tension wire again. I showed it to the service rep, and we went and looked at another Camaro to verify that in fact, that rubbery gunk was not part of the glove compartment. After confronting the guy who did the assembly, he said that the kit they ordered didn't have the part so he just "fixed it" again so it would work. The service rep and I had to go to the parts guy and look it up for ourselves in order to ensure that this time the correct piece was ordered.

Now let me get this straight, if you are tasked with repairing something, and the part ordered doesn't correct this, why on earth would you repeat the same crap fix as before, instead of maybe, you know, ordering the correct part? It took me and the service rep like 10 minutes to do so. So we ordered the part, and I went home. So far the radio and other stuff seems to works fine, but I hear a rattling sound coming from the top of the dash. Sure enough, the cover for the center front speaker is lopsided, I try to push it down so it would snap in, but it just doesn't snap. I lift it up, and well, check this out:

Notice the top brackets are broken. Once again, this guy breaks something, and doesn't bother to order a new part to fix it. These guys had my car for over 2 weeks, the least they could have done was order and replace anything they broke during the disassembly. It's too late to go back to Service tonight, but tomorrow as soon as I get off work, I'm going to have to waste another hour of my life to make sure they repair this as well. What worries me, is that these are the things that I can obviously see. What the hell could have happened underneath the dash?

If you take it back to the same dealer you're nuts. Find another dealer, call GM and tell them you're taking it to xx dealer and they need to approve all work that is needed to fix your car.

Dude, I'm not blowing smoke, I'm speaking from experience, you won't get any help from the escalation forum, and you have to make demands to GM. otherwise enjoy your jacked up car.

To make matters worst, I started getting condensation inside the radio this morning. How that happens, is beyond me. This is seriously starting to get just plain ridiculous.

Well if anybody has a good experience with a GM dealership in Miami, please do tell. So far I'm 0 for 2 on that sector.

I have some things I'd like to see fixed to perfection as well with panels and such. But, I realize I may ask for something to be fixed, and a bunch of other things broken instead.
Personally, based on the pics you have, and all the "un-seen" broken stuff, I'd ask for a new vehicle.

Unradical, you're showing incredible patience. Surely someone can recommend a good dealer with a stellar service dept in Miami. Can't believe what you're going through.

GM needs to realize that car draws an emotional response. Unlike most. That's good, here we all are on a forum. Something I or one have never bothered with.

The other side of the emotional draw is that it's gut wrenching to see your car torn apart in that manner. Doubly so when clearly cut open by an unskilled, clumsy, uncaring surgeon.

Only update I have is I've been trying to reach the GM rep for the past three days and he has not returned my calls. Oh, and the broken parts are on order (again).

The one I used is in Miramar, but they were good. Maroone Chevrolet of Pembroke Pines, adviser was Wesley Meek. I dont have my Camaro anymore (got rid of it due to so many issues within a 4 month period). They are good.

unradical, you may want to speak with your agent about working with another dealership just to make sure they know whats going on and who to contact from now on. I hope that helps you.

Well, not much of an update. I'm STILL awaiting parts to fix the destroyed parts on my dash from the dealership (going on over a week now). My air conditioner continues to be shoddy (cools sometimes, sometimes not, sometimes it takes forever to cool the vehicle). And my GM rep is useless, I've tried calling him numerous times this week to get an update or status, and he doesn't return my calls. Unfortunately, due to my experiences with MULTIPLE dealership's service centers, and the GM customer service staff, I truly believe this will be the last GM product I will ever purchase.

i am not trying to start a fight i really am just playing the devils advocate here and really do understand your frusrtation, but having worked at a dealership(not chevy) for a long time i can see both sides. i once had a customer who bought a brand new $60k truck and a week later the engine started knocking. he demanded that the manufacture give him a new truck because he said it would not be the same once a new engine was installed. as a technician i took insult to this there is no reason why the car should be any worse than new once im done with it. we ended up replacing the engine and then over the next 6 months getting every BS complaint under the sun from the guy about how the new engine had more vibration and did not get as good of gas milage or how the electrical problem in the rear of the car was because we messed somthing up when we did the engine. please dont be this guy.

on the other hand if you are having repeated visits to the service department for the same issues after a repair attempt has been made you should look into the lemon laws in your state. i hope your dealer is able to corectly repair your car and that it gives you years of trouble free operation.
Easy for you to say, it isn't your BRAND NEW CAR having all these issues, torn to pieces and put back together by techs who have already proven to show no care for the car, and a GM rep who could care less.
