With two sets of tires, the Pirellis will last a lot longer, they are much more expensive than the Blizzaks.....
How are you getting 18" rims on an SS? I thought 18's wouldn't clear the brembos?

I cut the hockey pucks off the brake pads. They were just put on to stop the occasional squeek (mostly in winter months). When you buy aftermarket pads, they don't have them anyway, I just did not want to buy new pads when mine were brand new. Cut them off, and the 18' Borbets fit perfectly. Plus, you get more sidewall on an 18' tire, which transaltes to better traction.

Drove through a blizzard today on the highway. Passed many trucks and SUVs that were crawling along. I had no traction issues.......

Their are 18's that will fit without mods. Mine do. I got them from tirerack but they do not sell them anymore. I looked up my old order the wheels are 18X8 5-120 ET40 ST GLIDE

I got my car in the winter 2010 (after the big storm) and it was with 21" pirelli summer only tires. Luckily there wasn't alot of snow but when there was I thought I was going to die everytime I drove the car.

DD Camaro

I own a 2010 Camaro LS with 6 speed manual and drive year round in Michigan. Have 245/55/18 BF Goodrich tires and it handles the snow ok as long as you start out slow. I opted for the LS and am adding mods myself to personalize to my liking. I have 46,000miles on my Camaro and have no problem driving year round, just keep it washed to keep and waxed.

I'm selling my Yukon for a Camaro SS this Spring, I live in UpState NY and I refuse to use my car through the winter. I guess it depends how long you want your car. Our winters our harsh, they do keep the roads some what clear. I drove my 83 Camaro in the snow one year, it was a pain in the ass even with snow tires. Not to mention my state dumps HUGE amounts of salt it will destroy your undercarriage. Salt, dirt, ice, people who cant drive on snow, black ice ... The risk factors greatly increase to damage your baby in the winter. I'm just going to buy a cheap 2-3K Jeep Wrangler or Blazer to get me through the winters.
