Yep it sure can. What happens is Onstar slows the car down to a stop. They will not just cut the power off to the motor. And I think they come on and tell the driver what is going on...

I'm glad she is ok. They more than likely gonna catch the dumb ass who did this. I'm sure he wasn't smart enough to wear gloves thus leaving finger prints. And any fool that has the nuts to try this I'm sure they have been caught doing something else b4 so their prints are in the system. And why would anyone carjack a car with OnStar? Knowing damn well they can track your every move in the car. If the police in my are wasn't so press to stop me so they can see the inside of my car, I would have Mr. Ruger P89DC riding shotgun all day. (check out those play on words..lol)

Don't tell anyone, but... The carjacker was me! I'm just kidding. If it were me, I would have fled the scene going 7 mph so as not to scratch paint

But seriously, hope she's ok, and had insurance...

:(This is very unfortunate but not surprising. My wife drove our 2ss to the Detroit area last weekend by herself and I was nervous about that to say the least. This is a very disirable vehicle as we all know and in short supply. It attracks attention whereever you go. Every Camaro owner needs to be ever vigilent about their surroundings at all times.

as everyone else, glad she is okay,in todays times it does'nt matter what you drive,although the camaro is the car just about everyone else want's so it is possible for something like this to happen anytime,..i always tell my wife and kids to always pay attention to their surroundings,especially going in and out of stores...i have had numerous people come up to me at gas stations wanting to see the inside of my camaro,which i let them but i am on alert and standing beside or behind them,too many knuckleheads on the streets these days,onstar is a great asset..my wife had a fender bender in my truck a couple of months ago and within 5 seconds onstar had called the truck to make sure everyone was okay,now that is a great option on a vehicle...

No only that, but if you're going to steal/carjack a vehicle you just might want to take one that "blends in" and sort of "flies under the RADAR," not one that sticks out like a sore thumb and is noticed by just about every person on the road. They aren't petty criminal 'cause they're smart. What a moron.

Its usually exciting to get all the attention with this car but when it leads to negative things it just ruins the joyment. :(

and i dont think my little 3lb maltese is gonna protect me from something like this...
