The new clutch spring I got from Ricky, is indeed MUCH lighter, so it acts the SAME, but just with way less tension. It has an extra loop and is light, so after installing, it kinda “mushes” itself and pokes the ends of the spring, out through the clutch spring bushings/mounts. Not an issue there at all, since nothing should snag on the pointy ends.

And like I said, I figured that having a clutch return spring would only really help with MAYBE limping the car, if something ends up happening with the clutch hydraulic system. I could probably just toss in a super light pedal return spring and take out the OEM style spring, and call it a day. The only thing that really made me keep Ricky’s prototype spring on, is that it doesn’t need to have a little “rig” in order to work; you just simply act like it’s the factory clutch pedal spring.
I wish I could take the credit….. but it’s John!

Whoops, typo LOL But yes, I spoke with John a while ago, and I’d love to see some of the “blueprints” for the prototype spring. I’m surprised no one tried making one sooner.

If anyone wants to purchase my prototype lighter clutch pedal spring, PM me for my contact info! I am getting rid of my car (story in general forum), so I will be installing my prior DIY, makeshift return spring back onto the clutch pedal.

The spring has only seen like barely ~150-200 miles of driving, so I'm sure it's already settled (if at all). If not, then maybe you can check how the pedal feels after 1500-3000 miles of driving. But I'm sure John probably took that into account...

I sure hope John or someone produces these or gets a patent or something maybe. Just like Ideal Garage, maybe they'll stay up for a few years; but I'm hopeful that someone else might buy the designs or whatever, if John does decide to not produce more and might let someone else take over or have the "blueprints".
