I used to work at a Ford dealership, they had the "paint medics" come in and repair stuff like that and things much worse on used cars. They were able to wet sand the area, touch it up, then blend it in with clear. Would probably only acutally paint about a 5" square area for someting like that and you could never tell any work was done. find out if you have a paint touch up place, or service like that around you. Maybe ask a dealership, they will have them come in once a week or something, and could have them do your car when their there.

Thanks for the advice all. I'm going to bring it to the body shop at a local Chevy dealer and see what they recommend.

Brought the car to the body shop. $253 to fix it. Brought the paperwork to the tire place owner, and he shockingly said he'd call the body shop and put in a purchase order to pay for it. He was sort of passive aggressive about it though; made comments to make sure and let me know that my Camaro isn't more expensive than his Harley-Davidson edition F150 or his Shelby GT500 (both Fords...hmm...), and insinuated until the very end that my car door getting messed up by one of his employees wasn't a big deal. He told me if I wanted to keep my car in perfect condition, I should cover it and put it in a garage, and I wanted to tell him "or just make sure I keep it away from this place and other people that are disrespectful of my property." But whatever, he's paying for it, and the body shop is going to fix it by sanding the paint off of just the edge and repainting it, and then re-clearcoating the entire door.

Thanks for the advice all...hope the paint and clearcoat come out okay.

That is going to be insanely hard to prove they they did it. I have that same thing on both of my doors without letting anyone else drive it and I have not hit anything with my doors. Don't know why but that is a really bad spot for rally yellow. I'm not saying they didn't do it but it's gonna be insanely hard to prove.

He already said he'd pay for it.

I'd be weary of ending up with a clear edge. Make sure they did a good job before you pick it up!

He's not the one that'll be doing the body work; one of the local Chevy dealers will be doing it.
