They shouldn't throw any codes since the cat placement is retained in it's OEM location. I have a local customer here that has had his in for about a week now and driven the heck outta it with no CEL....

Nice set of headers for the V6...coatings are awesome on it.

Best of luck with the install Abygale! Let me know how she comes out!!

Thanks again guys!,

thing that gets me is that most shops charge just as much as the headers to install, might as well just get bolt up LT headers...

Can't wait to hear it Abygale! You are gonna love the change it makes in your exhaust. I loved my MRT 1.0 before but now I cant get enough of it. I have become the annoying neighbor in my neighborhood thats sits in the garage and revvin a hot rod lol.

P.S. Your sig pic is smokin hot

Couple hundred miles on em and no codes so far. Crossing my fingers but I think these should be different than the JBAs since they are welded.

My installer charged 240 plus I gave him a 30 dollar tip.

Thanks guys. I can't wait to get my car back once this is done on Friday. Marley, I sort of already have that problem with my exhaust right now, at least until the car warms up. I can't imagine the noise I'll be making once these headers are on!

I am having my local Chevrolet dealer install these and the CAI for me. They have done all the work on my car so far and I deal with the service manager who has one mechanic that works on my car. He is really cool and I don't mind paying a little more when it's done right and the people doing the work have a great attitude about my warranty. Basically he acknowledged to me several times that these mods should not cause any issues for me at all and if they do, they would have to prove a mod was the reason and the only reason that the failure happened and frankly I don't get the impression they would want to work that hard to prove it. Not to mention there is always the possibility of improper installation which of course would have been done by them.

Like I said they are all pretty cool car guys in the service department, maybe I'm just really lucky.

Shop around...best advice.

$340, $255, and $100 were the local quotes for a Shorty setup on a LS3.

Yeah, $100.

Granted, they are bolt on, but the point is that there are people out there who obviously think that they don't need the business while others want it.

Evidenced by the prices in the quotes.

Those V6 shorties are looking really nice installed guys. Thanks for all the pics!

I talked to a guy at a muffler shop here in Mississippi about getting the DTH shorties and a cat-back put on. He said he wouldn't do the headers because he would have to lift the engine out to install them. Is he full of sh*t?

Marley beat me to it...usually people like that a.)don't know what they're doing or think that it's the "way to do it" from what they've read on the interbuts or b.)honestly think that they have too much money to take the time to take care of the customer.

Keep shoppin brotha....

Let me know if you need a reference.

Thanks again,
Ivan

Lift the engine! I'll bet he didn't want the job and he's never been under a 2010 Camaro either. Been there, seen the space, and wish some of the other vehicles I've had had this much space to put header in. Some of the Mustangs I've put headers on were terrible knuckle busting, nearly impossible to do header installs.

I just wish someone would either make the mid pipe/cat section for these shorties for a little more ease of installation. It is the only thing that is holding me back from getting these.

You can do these with the DT Catback and retain the OEM cats...that's what a couple people are doing so that they can retain the emissions requirements.

Mike (Synergy SATX) will be the first with both the Shorties and Catback on the V6.

Keep in touch with him and hopefully () we'll get him to post up a clip or three to pass the info on his car along.

Lemme know if I can help you out with anything...the second batch of V6 shorties is probably about 3-5 weeks out still but am taking orders on them as they will surely sell out.

Thanks everyone,
Ivan

I just got the call that my headers and intake are on!

I'm so excited to go pick my baby back up and see what she sounds like now! It's probably wrong for a woman to get this excited about a car...but I can't help it!!
