My mom bought a brand-new 1968 Camaro Sport Coupe in 1968 after graduating college. Funny story; she actually wanted a Mustang but the dealer at the Furd dealership was too pushy with the "buy today" and "that Camaro will rust in a couple years!" ideas. So she said screw him and went to George O'Hara Chevrolet in New Bedford, MA and they didn't push her at all. She just looked at the cars herself and the next day she came back and special ordered it (they didn't have the color she wanted in stock; Fathom Blue). Then, on Dec. 24, 2001, I got MY Camaro; a 1988 Sport Coupe, 305 Tuned Port out of an 85 IROC, T-Tops. Since then, I've basically replaced or added every part known to make my car into an IROC mechanically and suspension, all I need to do is install the last front spring and get better shocks. Oh, and I also put a 1992 dash and gauge cluster in last winter. And yes, every gauge and light on it works.
Another interesting note on our Camaros; mine was built at Van Nuys in May,1988. My Mom's was built at Norwood in May, 1968. Same Camaro trim-style, built the same month. Hmmmm... I think my plans now call for me to do some body repair to my car (rust) this winter and then repaint it victory red. I have this idea of doing her up like Dale Earnhardt's red 1987 IROC. I think it'd be cool Oh and of course the other plan is save all I can for the new Camaro! Kevin |

I have always wanted a Camaro but have never owned one. I took my cousin's brand new 2000 Camaro to prom my senior year in high school and swore i would own one shortly after. Then they announced that they were discontinuing it which sincerely pissed me off. When I heard news that they were going to throw the concept into production I started putting money away that day. I will own my first one within the first few months after they go on sale in '08.

I remember going to the car lot with my dad at 16 and was looking at 2 camaros
The first one was a 94 3.4 V6 5-speed. It was all white with a rag top. Then there was the beast. 1986 green z28 with a 400 small block. Headers, glasspacks, everything that a 16 year old boy could ask for... Needless to say that was the one I chose. Then came the deal of a lifetime. Two years later I got a 94 V6 camaro red for 1500 bucks. I still have this car and it is pale in comparison to the sound of a throaty 400 small block. But it's quick for a Six. |

I was 13 when I acquired my first camaro, a Mystic teal mettalic 83 with a grey interior, I owned it all of three days till my older brother wanted back, since then I now own a pristine 87' Iroc which I paid $5000 for it a year ago, and it has only 187,000 km on the odometer, I also own two third gen bodies currently. And as of today Im going to probably trade off my 89' Blazer for a 96' Trans Am, a V6, but a 5spd.. and at least it is an F BodyI wanted my bro's 96' LT1 wit a 6spd, but he totaled it, and it went up for auction at the wrecking yard and sold for $16,000 and it needed a good $7000 worth of work.. so my mom and I stopped bidding when it hit $15,500... Were a Big time Chevy family lol

Guess this is a good spot for my first post. My first car was a 74 Camaro that I paid $500 for back when I was 15. It wasn't pretty but it got the job done. I put $6000 into the body work and paint and it turned out pretty well. Since then I've been mostly Mustangs including a couple of 2003 Cobras and my current 97 supercharged Cobra convertible. I was thinking about a new C6 Vette but the look of the new Camaro has me hooked!
